Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Quinn.
Hi Laura, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have now been a licensed Realtor for 7 years. I was originally in school to be a nurse and that didn’t not go as planned so I went to something else I was familiar with which was real estate. I actually grew up in this industry as my parents are investors so I was very familiar with it and was something I loved. My parents had always wanted one of their children to go into real estate so you can imagine the excitement of them when I told them I was going that route. I was so ready to jump into it that I was able to finish my classes fast and get this career going. I knew this was something I would be happy doing because I have always loved helping families and although this was not helping them in a medical way, I was now helping them with one of their biggest investments in life and I would be playing a small roll in that,
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I would not say it has been a smooth road at all. I have put a lot of hard work to get to where I am at today. Being a Realtor is like starting your own small business where no one knows who you are and if they can trust you with something so big. You also are learning things as you go because no transaction is ever the same. I like to tell new agents to think of it this way, I have been doing the same thing for 7 years so they can’t expect to be here one week in. I remember becoming a Realtor and thinking “where am I going to get clients?” . I honestly could not even remember what earnest money was but thankfully my broker at the time had so much faith in me and always motivated me to do more. Even 7 years in it is not always a smooth road but I can say I love what I do and now I have my own team and can help agents become successful and share my story with them.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Realtor with The Property Shop and my teams name is the Laura Quinn Group. I serve the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and I help buyers, sellers, investors and anyone wanting to purchase a home or investment property. I have a lot of experience with new builds that I actually also specialize in working directly with builders to help them find land and build homes to what todays buyers are wanting. What am I most proud of? I would have to say building my own team and having such a great relationship with my clients that my business is pretty much all ran from referrals. I like to think that what sets me apart is that I try to treat every single client as if they are my only ones. Sometimes even they are surprised at how busy I am and yet they never knew it or felt it. I treat all my clients how I would want to be treated if I was purchasing a home. My previous broker used to joke with me telling me I was a shark because I am someone who will fight for my clients and their rights. Let’s just say that I am not afraid to rock a boat for my clients.
Any big plans?
I like to dream big so I would love to someday have my own brokerage. In the meantime my big plans are to continue growing my team. I also just purchased my first investment/flip home and I am looking forward to that project which I hope to be the first of many to come.
