Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Nuno
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I came to the United States in 2010, and shortly after, I got married and had two beautiful children. Now, they’re teenagers, and I’ve spent the last 15 years building a life here. When I first moved, I started in Miami before eventually settling in Texas.
I’ve always been drawn to fitness, but my journey didn’t start there. I explored different industries before realizing that fitness was more than just exercise—it was a way to invest in myself. After two pregnancies, fitness helped me regain my strength, feel better physically and mentally, and become a better wife and mom. But beyond the physical transformation, it introduced me to a community of inspiring people who motivated me to push further.
My career in fitness began as a STRONG by Zumba instructor, which led me to become a Les Mills Spinning instructor, Bootcamp instructor, and personal trainer. I worked in nationally recognized gyms, training clients and teaching classes that helped people of all fitness levels push past their limits. Over time, I deepened my expertise, earning my Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) certification from NASM, along with specializations as a Nutritional Coach, Golf Fitness Specialist, and Youth Exercise Specialist.
I believe that learning never stops. I’m always looking to expand my knowledge and stay up to date to ensure I can give my clients the best of myself. My goal is to help others reach their full potential, whether it’s improving their strength, movement, or confidence in their own bodies.
Through social media, I started attracting clients who told me my journey inspired them—especially moms struggling with self-confidence. I realized so many women shared my struggles, and I wanted to show them that they were capable of so much more than they believed.
To challenge myself further, I entered a bikini bodybuilding competition, which proved that I could push beyond my limits and accomplish things I once thought were impossible. It became a way to strengthen both my body and mind. Through it all, I was incredibly fortunate to have the support of my husband and family, who stood by me every step of the way.
However, my journey wasn’t always easy. When I started looking for jobs as a personal trainer and instructor, I faced discrimination because of my accent. One particular boutique gym turned me down, saying I wouldn’t be a good fit simply because of the way I spoke. But I refused to let that stop me. I’m proud to be from Barranquilla, Colombia, and even prouder to be a strong Latina woman making an impact in the fitness world.
Today, I work with Oxefit, where I’m able to reach even more people. Not only am I a personal trainer, but I also teach fitness classes that extend far beyond my local community. I am the only Spanish-speaking trainer on the platform, which has given me the incredible opportunity to teach classes in Spanish and connect with my Latino community. I want to remind them that they are strong, capable, and unstoppable.
Now, I’m launching my new program, Fuerza Total—the first Spanish-language strength training program available on the XS1. And this is just the beginning. My mission is to empower, inspire, and uplift others, proving that no matter where you come from or what obstacles you face, you have the power to transform your life.
My journey started as a personal goal, but it’s grown into something so much bigger. Through social media, my XS1 workouts, and now Fuerza Total, I’m honored to reach and inspire others every day—because when we lift ourselves up, we lift up those around us too.
If I can do it, so can you.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I moved from Barranquilla, Colombia, to Miami, I faced many personal and professional challenges. Even though Miami is a melting pot with a large Latino community, I still felt the absence of my family—my sisters, the familiar scents of my hometown, the food, and the friendships I left behind. The language barrier was also a struggle at the time, making the transition even harder.
After having my babies, I was fortunate to have the full support of my husband, but I still longed for my family and the moments I wished I could share with them back in Colombia. Adjusting to life in a new country wasn’t easy, but it showed me that I was stronger than I ever realized.
Moving to Texas brought another shift—I found myself surrounded by people from all different backgrounds. While this experience helped me grow in so many ways, I also faced discrimination because of my accent. At first, it affected my confidence, making me doubt myself. But over time, I realized my worth. I embraced my ability to speak two languages and connect with both Spanish and English speakers, which opened my eyes to even greater opportunities.
On top of that, one of the biggest challenges I face is juggling work and family life. Being a mom, a wife, and a full-time trainer while making sure my kids are happy, active in sports, and enjoying their childhood is no easy task. There are days when I feel stretched thin, constantly trying to balance it all. And I know I’m not alone—so many women feel the same way, trying to be everything for everyone while also chasing their own goals.
Through it all, I’ve learned that challenges don’t define me—how I rise above them does. Every struggle has made me stronger, more resilient, and more determined to keep growing. And if there’s one thing I’ve realized, it’s that we are all capable of more than we think—we just have to keep pushing forward, believing in ourselves, and embracing the journey.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a fitness trainer, nutritionist Coach, youth exercise specialist, certified personal trainer, and golf exercise specialist—but above all, I am a mom, a wife, and a passionate advocate for living a strong, balanced, and fulfilling life.
Originally from Colombia, I speak both English and Spanish, and I absolutely love traveling and connecting with people. Fitness is not just my career; it’s my way of inspiring and empowering others to become the best version of themselves. Some of my clients have even become some of my closest friends, which is a testament to the deep connections I build through my work.
Currently, I have the incredible opportunity to work with Oxefit, where I teach classes in both English and Spanish. I’m proud to be the only Spanish-speaking trainer on the team, and I’m beyond excited to soon launch the first-ever strength program in Spanish. This project means so much to me because it allows me to reach and uplift my Latino community in a whole new way.
I am always learning, growing, and specializing in different areas of my industry because I believe in giving my absolute best to those I work with. But my greatest achievement? Being a mom. My biggest goal is to raise happy, confident kids who feel free to pursue their passions and grow into amazing people. Through my journey, I also hope to inspire other moms to prioritize their health, embrace their strength, and never stop striving for more.
If you’re looking for motivation, support, or just a friendly push to start your fitness journey, I’m here to help. Let’s move, grow, and thrive—together.
How do you think about luck?
Luck—good or bad—has played a big role in shaping who I am today. One of the most defining moments in my journey came years ago when I applied for a job at a boutique gym. The manager looked at me and said, “You’re not going to be good because of your accent.” Just like that, he dismissed me—not because of my skills, my passion, or my work ethic, but because of the way I spoke.
At that moment, I felt crushed. His words shook my confidence, made me question myself, and planted seeds of doubt in my mind. But looking back, I realize that what felt like “bad luck” was actually one of the greatest gifts life could have given me.
That experience lit a fire inside me. Instead of letting his words define me, I used them as fuel to prove him wrong—not just for him, but for myself. I worked harder, learned more, and expanded my skills. I became not just a better trainer but a better communicator, a stronger leader, and an advocate for others who have been underestimated.
It also helped me embrace my identity. I stopped seeing my accent as a barrier and instead saw it as a bridge—a way to connect with both Spanish and English-speaking communities. Today, I’m proud to say that I am the only Spanish-speaking trainer at Oxefit, reaching people who might not have had access to fitness guidance in their language.
I am incredibly grateful to Oxefit for giving me the opportunity to share my passion and skills with our members. Through this platform, I can connect with people worldwide, helping them build strength, confidence, and resilience—no matter where they’re from or what challenges they face.
What I once thought was bad luck turned into a life-changing lesson: the challenges we face don’t define us—how we respond to them does. Every setback can be a setup for something greater. That moment of rejection pushed me to grow, to believe in myself, and to create opportunities where others saw limitations.
So if you’ve ever faced moments where people doubted you or circumstances felt unfair, remember: those moments don’t break you—they build you. And sometimes, what feels like bad luck is actually life pushing you toward your true purpose.
