Today we’d like to introduce you to Lori C. Wysocki.
Hi Lori, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I will try to give a brief history. I am a former foster, high school dropout, and single mom who picked grapes with my first husband, before I had my “aha” moment. I decided to change my life. I got an indoor job at Del Monte packing peaches and tomatoes. It was seasonal, so I moved on and got a job at Jack in the Box, where I “bloomed.” I started slicing and dicing tomatoes, and then I worked my way up the ladder from kitchen prep to director of operations which is my current role. I currently operate two local brands, Golden Chick and Jack in the Box, for a franchise group in Dallas. I’m a mom of 4, and I live in Coppell with my husband and three dogs. I am highly driven to help women who want to climb the corporate ladder or aspiring entrepreneurs gain the clarity and confidence needed for their journey despite the life challenges that appear to keep them “stuck.”
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly, my earliest struggle was watching my step-dad drown during a family weekend as a two-and-a-half-year-old. My relationship with my mom was a constant battle, and she sent me to live with my grandmother before entering the foster care system. After being shipped around to different foster families, I decided to quit high school, get a second job and support myself. This is just part of my “before story”; we all have one. My struggles that have had the most impact on my life is “rejection,” “control,” and “fear of water.” I have been fortunate to overcome many obstacles, and I love sharing that although life may throw us many challenges, we can always overcome them and “bloom where we are.” My relationship with my mom was a constant battle which led me to living with my grandmother before entering the foster care system. Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a director of operations. I operate fast-food restaurants in DFW. I share my story to inspire my employees and encourage them to grow and develop their talents and “bloom where they are.” If you asked my direct reports, they would say that I am fair, I listen, I care for them and their families, and I am all about ensuring that each of our team members knows they matter and are important to us. When we take care of our employees, they will be loyal. Employees don’t usually quit the organization; they quit their boss/leader. When I relocated to Texas 4 years ago from California, three employees followed me here, and they were not given a relocation package. That, to me speaks volumes.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
If someone is interested in growing with us, they can apply to one of our many locations. If they want to collaborate with me, they can email me or follow me on Instagram or LinkedIn. I am about serving others, and there are many ways to do that. I also wrote a book a few years back. I’m currently writing the second edition, and it will be out in the summer of 2022. I do coach individuals and can provide that information if needed.
I have a Sue Talk on YouTube that I did a few years back. I love helping people gain clarity and pursue their dreams.
