Today we’d like to introduce you to Lupe Baez.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Lupe Baez and my husband Ernesto Baez started our cleaning business in 2017. We decided to name it Baez Maintenance Services because we were not only offering cleaning services but really any kind of maintenance needs. We started after I was influenced by a different janitorial business however, I really personally disliked how a lot of the employees that actually did all the dirty work were being treated and paid. So I decided we can do that as well and treat our entire team with respect and honor their hard work. Sometimes people think of cleaning as something very basic but if it was that basic then why is it something essential everyone needs but not everyone can do. Sometimes it’s due to our busy schedules other times mental health. We do not care what the reason is all we have established at BMS is that without a mess there is no BMS. I love what I do and seeing any type of facility, home or space with a cleaning need and turn it into a healthy environment is my favorite. 8 years later thank God we are still busy and working and thanks to our entire team and some of our staff who started with us from the beginning, we have been able to obtain some really cool places to take care of and our clients trust us which is the biggest win for us. This past year we won top 3 for one of the best cleaning businesses in Fort Worth and I cant wait to see what all we accomplish in 2026.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely, not a smooth road like anything it has its ups and downs and maybe at moments I wanted to quit but thankfully have not. My favorite thing that I still get asked from time to time today is “oh was this your parents business” no, not at all if anything I think everyone had a little doubt when we started but I knew it was going to all work out. Started with no funding other than my husband’s support and our faith that it was going to be something that would not only benefit us but everyone around us. Our full time pay checks in the beginning were all invested into BMS so made people close to us a little nervous.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do it all from daily operations to sales but my specialty is in winning our prospects trust and getting a contract signed but when that contract gets signed we do not drop the ball in the daily scope of work if anything it makes me make sure our client is always satisfied. I take criticism very well as a great listener so when issues do come up I can make sure we can improve. I believe what sets us apart is that any new facility we get we do all the work first to make sure when I set up the employee who will do the daily job the payment offer is fair and we are not underpaying our hard working employees just because the numbers look good. I take pride in making sure our staff is taken care of just as well as our clients.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Prioritizing God in my life every morning because of Him everything else flows the way things need to be in all aspects of my life.
