Daily Inspiration: Meet Mabel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mabel.

Hi Mabel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started bartending when I was 18 at a small local restaurant, and that’s where I fell in love with the craft, not just making drinks, but creating experiences for people.

After I became a mom, my perspective really changed. I wanted flexibility, ownership of my time, and something meaningful I could build for my daughter. So in 2023, I started my mobile bartending business. At first, it was called Mamita Barita, a name that felt very personal and rooted in my culture.

As I started learning more about branding and the business side, I realized I wanted a name that could grow with me, something still inspired by my Mexican heritage, but more versatile and timeless. So in 2025, I rebranded to Solera.

I’ll be honest, 2024 was a quiet year. I was figuring things out, learning, and building behind the scenes. But I never stopped believing in it.

In 2025, I came back with clarity, better systems, and a stronger vision, and now Solera is really taking off. What started as a skill I learned at 18 has turned into a business that represents resilience, culture, and building something from the ground up for my family.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but that’s actually what shaped the business.

When I started in 2023, I struggled with pricing my services, marketing myself, and really believing in the value I brought. I also rebranded in 2025 from Mamita Barita to Solera, which meant starting over in a lot of ways, new name, new identity, new audience.

On top of that, balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship was a learning curve. There were slow months where I questioned if it would work.

But those challenges forced me to learn the business side, build better systems, and get very clear on my brand and my worth. By 2025, I wasn’t just a bartender, I was a business owner with a vision. And that’s when things really started to take off

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What we specialize in isn’t just serving drinks, it’s creating an elevated, personalized bar experience that becomes part of the event itself. From custom menus to themed cocktails and professional presentation, the bar becomes a feature, not just a service.

I think what I’m most known for is the attention to detail and the way I connect with guests. People don’t just get a bartender, they get an experience, energy, and hospitality that feels intentional and memorable.

What I’m most proud of is building this from the ground up as a mom and entrepreneur, learning the business side, rebranding when I needed to, and turning a skill I learned at 18 into something that now helps my family and is growing quickly.

What really sets Solera apart is the heart behind it. It’s rooted in culture, creativity, and genuine care for people’s celebrations. I don’t treat it like a gig, I treat every event like it matters, because to my clients, it does.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I’m more of a book person than a podcast listener. I really enjoy reading about mindset, ambition, and the idea that how you think and move through the world really shapes your opportunities.

Two books that really influenced me are The Power of Ambition by Jim Rohn and The Motivation Manifesto by Brendon Burchard. They both speak a lot about discipline, personal responsibility, and creating the life you want instead of waiting for it.

For work, I rely a lot on Canva for branding and visuals, Square for payments and bookings, and Instagram to market and connect with clients.

Those resources keep me creative, focused, and motivated, both as a business owner and in my personal life.
