Today we’d like to introduce you to Madi McBride.
Hi Madi, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I formed my LLC July of 2024, but my photography journey started years before. I grew up going to my grandparents and great- grandparents homes, always looking for ways to entertain myself. I ended up finding a treasure box of memories each time- their photo albums. From 1950’s selfies to the most beautiful scenic views around the world… I was hooked. Instead of reading a book & escaping into a new world- I would open up their albums and escape into theirs. Fast forward to 2024- I was really struggling with the urge to own my own business but didn’t know what it could be. Until, one random Tuesday, God told me to go get a camera then he will do the rest. He did exactly that.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been the smoothest, but that’s the best part! I believe that every wind and bump is what makes you as a business owner and business stronger… if you learn from it. My goal is the constantly learn every chance I get from business concepts to the skill of my shooting. My biggest struggle is to evolve with social media. In my ideal world I would have a burner phone, however, you always need to grow with the times. I make myself go out of my comfort zone while staying authentic to my business.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I simply create! Frontier Focus Photography specializes in the western lifestyle- from the neon lights of Vegas shooting editorial western fashion to a morning of capturing a multi-generation ranch sorting pairs in the dewey South Dakota morning. I’m known for Grit and Glam while traveling the states. Another side of my business is Frontier Collective. Frontier Collective is a membership I offer for business owners wanting to grow their business through continuous content for advertising.
I am most proud of my passion for Frontier Focus. For me, taking photos is just a small part of my business. Meeting new people & capturing their vision mixed with mine is beyond fulfilling.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people don’t realize that my work has always been about more than photography.
The shoots, collaborations, and brand relationships I’m involved in are part of a bigger vision…The Frontier Collective. It’s something I’ve been building quietly: a community rooted in the western lifestyle, where creatives and brands grow together instead of competing.
