Hi Madu, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My love for music stems from my childhood. I have always had a reverence for music, and artistry. My parents are pastors and my mom is a gospel artist which really bred a love for music in me. I have been singing and writing for years and I finally decided to take the arts and my talent seriously in 2023. It’s been my saving grace outside of God. It’s been a space of peace, remembering myself, and loving something so passionately
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Right now it’s just opportunity! I am taking the moments that come to me and praying for more. There is such an electrifying energy on stage that I cannot get anywhere else. I’d love to share it more and more
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a singer/songwriter, model, and creative. I am currently in school, I write the most world escaping songs, and I work in the service industry!
I am known for putting smiles on many people’s faces, making them feel seen, and just being Madu. I am most proud of my personal growth within the creative sector. I have been making slow and steady improvements in my craft, and I’ve been releasing my music, baring my soul to my audience and friends for about a year now. It’s beautiful.
What sets me apart from others is that I am simply myself and I won’t change that for any circumstance or person. I am proof that it’s okay to come from the certain background and still find a lot of self confidence and personality in the world. I allow people to find themselves in my music, my art, and my warmth.
I really just want to help others like me discover themselves along with me. Life is a shared journey and its meaningless to walk it alone in my opinion. Lone wolves are valid! But I would be honored to have the chance to share my art and share my heart
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I believe that with the rise in AI technology we will see a lot of creatives, and different industries go back to their roots. At least this is what I’m hoping. It feels like as a race we are fighting back by bringing human innovation back to the forefront. While some people seek simplicity and efficiency, a lot of us are seeking meaning and pride in our work. We are seeking adventure in our ideas and lives. This is just from my lens though and I pray that we embrace being human again. Our brains and imagination are our greatest asset.
Trends rotate in cycles though, so I also believe that we’ll just keep bringing back old trends, tweaking them a bit, and giving them a new name haha. Never fails
