Greetings, my name is Melvin Edmonds Jr.
My father is the late Melvin Edmonds Sr. of (After 7, Milestone). My uncles are Kevon & Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. Coming from a musical background, it’s always been in my DNA to work within the music industry. My love and passion for music is extraordinary. My business “Edmonds Music Inc” is an independent record label/artist management company. Founded December 2022 by Melvin Edmonds Jr. Let’s just say the success of the company is incredible! My team is truly supportive and amazing! Special thanks to my biggest supporter, my wife, Briana Zalamar-Edmonds aka “BrooklynBabyBri” for not only being “Edmonds Music Inc” Secretary but the mother to our record label! We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Success doesn’t come easy no matter the fortune or fame. Everyone has to start somewhere. It’s all about what you make out of yourself that determines your path of success.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Besides being born into the musical industry, I’m a singer, songwriter, producer, engineer, and entrepreneur. Edmonds Music Inc was founded by myself Melvin Edmonds Jr. My business specializes in artist development. What sets me aside from other independent music labels is my originality. Edmonds Music Inc is the only independent label who has the major mainstream connections that labels usually have. My mission is to not only help my clients with their development, help the become the best they can be!
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned within the industry is to never deal with the middleman. Don’t be easily persuaded by others. Do your own research. Gain credibility within yourself by knowing yourself and what you’re signing up for.
