Today we’d like to introduce you to Meredith & Jessica.
Hi Meredith & jessica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Back in July 2025, Jessica and I (Meredith) went back and forth on 40+ names for our next pop-up event and nothing felt right. Then I looked down at the book I was reading and said… “UNTAMED.”
Jessica IMMEDIATELY goes: “GIRLLL… that shit just gave me some serious goosebumps. I f*ing love it.”
From that moment, the energy shifted. The name resonated so deeply that I knew we had to brand it—because UNTAMED isn’t just a class, it’s a whole movement.
Glennon Doyle’s “Untamed” is all about breaking free from the expectations the world puts on us and dares us to live as our truest selves. She shares her own journey of leaving behind the “good girl” script, listening to her inner voice, and embracing a life that feels both wild and authentic. The book encourages people to trust themselves over societal pressures, to stop shrinking to fit others’ comfort, and to live boldly in alignment with their deepest desires and values. At its core, the message is: Stop living the life you’ve been told to want and start living the life you ACTUALLY want. Your freedom will inspire others to free themselves, too.
Untamed is not just a dance class; it’s a movement. Our philosophy revolves around embracing your wild, free-spirited self through the art of dance. We teach Turn Up Dance Fitness and MixxedFit choreo. We provide a vibrant and inclusive space for fitness enthusiasts and dancers to come together and unleash their potential. Our classes are designed to not only enhance physical well-being but also to uplift the spirit. Join us in celebrating the joy of movement and the power of self-expression. We have weekly Tuesday classes at 7pm and often hosts pop-up events around the DFW area.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We started Untamed Dance Fitness about 6 months ago. Having 2 owners, we’ve had to make sure our visions and values for this business align, I would say it’s been smooth so far because we’re very growth-oriented. We don’t get down on ourselves when things don’t turn out the way we want.. we decide how we can change and move forward. We look at everything as a learning opportunity.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Meredith is an inpatient psychiatric nurse who helps those in mental health crisis. She prioritizes mental health and brings this knowledge into helping others heal with the help of dance and fitness.
Jessica’s job is wellbeing networking. She helps other people make their visions into reality by creating innovate wellbeing strategies.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Both meredith and Jessica were both leader-oriented and multifaceted.
Meredith had her challenges with drug addiction, but after choosing a different path, she was able to thrive. She was president of Razorback Recovery at University of Arkansas, won Student Leader of the Month (twice), and graduated nursing school with a minor in substance use disorders.
Jessica was a tom boy through and though. She was super athletic, playing basketball, running track, section leader in March band, she led in all she did.
Together, Meredith and Jessica truly are unstoppable.
