Today we’d like to introduce you to Nakul Mahajan, MD.
Hi Nakul, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My path into medicine started with a simple curiosity: “Why does pain linger even after the body is healed?” That question stayed with me throughout my training, and over time, it became clear that chronic pain isn’t just physical; it affects how people move, think, and live.
I founded AllSpine Pain & Wellness to change how we approach that. I wanted to create a place where patients feel heard, and where we use advanced, minimally invasive treatments to help them truly recover and not just manage symptoms.
As my practice grew, I noticed many of my patients also had circulation and vein issues that were contributing to their discomfort. That led us to expand into vein care, allowing us to address pain and vascular health together.
It’s been a journey of steady growth, which includes building trust in the community, treating each patient like family, and seeing people walk in with pain but leave with hope. That’s still the best part of what I do.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road but I don’t think it’s supposed to be. Starting a medical practice from scratch means wearing every hat: physician, business owner, leader, and sometimes even handyman. There were days when I was treating patients while troubleshooting the phone lines or EMR system in between.
The biggest challenge was building everything the right way. Creating a practice that prioritizes patient care over volume, and staying true to that even when growth was slow or resources were tight. But those early hurdles taught me a lot about resilience, leadership, and the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in the comprehensive management of both pain and vascular health. My work focuses on diagnosing and treating chronic spine, joint, and musculoskeletal pain, as well as venous insufficiency and varicose vein disease. Through minimally invasive, evidence-based procedures, my goal is to help patients move better, feel better, and regain confidence in their daily lives.
I’m known for combining precision and compassion; using advanced interventional pain techniques such as epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablation, and regenerative therapies, along with specialized vein treatments including radiofrequency ablation, sclerotherapy, and ultrasound-guided procedures.
What truly sets my practice apart is our integrated approach. We don’t just focus on symptoms, we also address the underlying causes of pain or vascular dysfunction to achieve long-term relief and restoration. Every treatment plan is individualized, designed to improve not just a patient’s physical condition, but their overall quality of life.
What I’m most proud of are the transformations I get to witness such as patients who can finally return to work, travel, or simply enjoy life without the limitations of chronic pain or vein discomfort. For me, that’s the most rewarding part of what I do.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I believe the most important quality that’s shaped my success is compassion backed by precision. In both pain management and vein care, I’ve learned that truly listening to my patients is just as vital as having the technical expertise to treat them. Every person who walks into my clinic has a story, and understanding that story allows me to create a plan that’s not just medically sound but personally meaningful.
Empathy drives how I connect with patients, while precision ensures that every procedure I perform meets the highest standard of safety and effectiveness. That balance, caring deeply while executing carefully, is what I believe makes a real difference in outcomes and in the trust my patients place in me.
