Today we’d like to introduce you to NVRMND.
NVRMND, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I feel like I always knew I didn’t fit in with the crowd and so I just stayed to myself, and music was really the main hobby. I never told anyone that I was working on anything or making music, and often still don’t just openly to this day. I just figured that if I stayed out of the way and put in a lot of work daily that time would eventually make others get the vision.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Everything has high and lows. Music. Friendships. Life. It all molds you into the person you see yourself being. Just learned to take it as it comes and not go against or run from what’s going on.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
The styling of NVRMND comes from us just growing up in a time where text and the internet are prominent, but just saying “never mind” is the act of changing your mind. I think for me, what NVRMND stands for is just never forgetting that ability to change your mind. As humans we just do that a lot. One day we may feel a way that tomorrow we completely don’t feel as far as opinions or anything. Also meaning you can wake up at any time and decide to be the person you were created to be. You can always start again. You can always go back and change a creation into something new. Nothing is permanent that you don’t want to be, and what people say and think about you don’t really matter or define you. My project @ (Antihero) turns a year old on April 2nd, and to celebrate, I basically made a deluxe version of my whole catalog just to make it more true to self and understandable before I do anything else. Stuff like that.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Just working really hard and being myself at all times. It’s easier to be successful when the reason for your success is just waking up every day. Even if it isn’t recognized or ends up being something that people don’t understand at first. Just be yourself, and it will help you in the long run.
