Daily Inspiration: Meet Orlando Howard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Orlando Howard.

Orlando, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started out doing event planning for private parties and clients in NC. My friends in charlotte motivated me to start doing parties, then one day I decided to host my first party when I moved to Atlanta a new city where the nightlife was big and when I did my party there it was a vibe after serval years in Atlanta doing parties I took a leap of faith and moved to a new city and tired to do the same thing I was doing in Atl. Dallas night life is good but difficult as well when I first moved here I did My first party in 2019 with my old business partner Derrick Howard it was a day party on a Saturday at this club called Taco Heads we went in the mind set to not just give a party give a experience from the venue to the DJ to the drinks and being our self-giving the vibes. After couple years in Dallas, it was ups and downs but I’m thankful for everyone who supported me from hosting parties or doing our annual Adult Field Day. Throughout my time here I worked with amazing promoters and celebrities and in 2023. I plan on continue working with my business partner AO to give our community safe spaces and different vibes to have a good time no matter your gender, sexual orientations, or race. We are here for the Culture.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This journey as a event planner or party promoter has its good days and its bad days. Your party may pop one party and couple weeks later your party my die down little, but I’m grateful for every support without them I would not be where I’m at today…

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
A lot of people may not know but outside of party promoting. I been in education for 11 years teaching pre-k til 8th also I’m now an administrator in the education system for a school here in Dallas. I love what I do for scholars to make sure they get the best education possible. I plan on one day opening my own private or Charter to give scholars a different look on education to make it fun. I’m most proud moment is being a black educator and is able to adapt to anything and surroundings. What set me apart from others is me just being me real and authentic.

What do you think about luck?
Being a promoter is not for the weak because you will have good days and bad days. We deal with a lot from the club, DJs, and our patrons, but I love all my supporters and everyone from the clubs I have worked for.
