Daily Inspiration: Meet Renita Berry

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Renita Berry again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Renita, thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
Hello, my name is Renita Berry, (R. Jay Berry), Christian, wife, mother, and author, respectively. I was an educator with the Dallas Independent School District for 30 years and after retirement, I began my writing journey. I wanted to bring messages of faith, family, and friendships through my writing.
My grandmother was my first inspiration and her story unfolds in The Sunday Rose trilogy. The Forever Series was highlighted with three novels of individuals with unique stories and messages for everyone.

Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
Since my last interview, the year anniversary of my sister’s death has come and gone but has also brought back those memories of my loss. When thinking about her life, I am so grateful she was my sister and in my life. Her story will be presented in my ninth novel, The Help Chronicles 2, The Lost Connection. While I have started the writing of this novel, I have had to take my time because of the pain I feel on a daily basis at her absence in my life.
So the Lord, is helping me get through my pain and loss by giving me another story to write while I continue to heal. I am looking forward to the completion of writing and publishing my eighth novel soon. Thank you Lord.

We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?

I am most excited about the release of my next book, Suddenly God, in 2025. This book is different than my previous seven books because it highlights the stories of four separate individuals and their Suddenly God stories. For me, this book is a labor of love because it shows how the Lord brings us through, out, and around challenges and circumstances in our lives. Hopefully, the reader will see that the Lord is always with us through our trials and tribulations.
