Daily Inspiration: Meet Right On Target Podcast

Today we’d like to introduce you to Right On Target Podcast

Hi Right On Target Podcast, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Our hosts Justin and Mike met each other over 10 years ago while working at Target. Two things that the guys bonded over were sports and similar taste in music! So over the years, the guys have had a group chat with a couple of friends who just talk about all the breaking news in sports or new music/new artists to listen to. We started the podcast originally back in 2021, but life had gotten busy for the guys and ultimately decided to part ways with the podcast. One day in 2023, Justin had the idea to bring back the Right On Target Podcast and Mike agreed. The hunger for podcasting never left them!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not been easy balancing work, life and the podcast, but it has been rewarding and fun along the way. Consistency is key when it comes to podcasting. If you aren’t all in, you can’t expect your listeners to be.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are podcasters. We talk about sports, mostly the NFL and NBA, and we talk about music where we discuss the latest in hip hop/R&B. We also like to spotlight up and coming artists. We put out episodes every Friday on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and wherever you find podcasts.

We are most proud being able to look back from a year ago when we decided to bring the podcast back and knowing that we haven’t missed a week since our return. We are also proud of the connections we have made and fans we’ve gained from creating something from the ground up.

One thing that sets us apart from others is our genuine connection between each other. Being friends for so long and starting this endeavor together has created a great bond that can be seen in our episodes.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
The overall culture of Dallas is what we like best. From the diverse foods, to the rising music scene, to our sports teams, what’s not to love?

The least thing we like about Dallas is the traffic and all the construction that goes on at the same time.
