Daily Inspiration: Meet Rosa Figueroa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosa Figueroa.

Hi Rosa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My interests in photography began while I started a journey in the modeling industry. Seeing how confident being behind a camera made me feel, I developed a passion to bring that feeling to others. My friends and I experimented with multiple sceneries, concepts, and themes as we dominated the creative abstract of a photoshoot. After two years of trying out different cameras and learning from others in the photography world, I decided to make it official for me. In 2019, right in the middle of a Covid pandemic, I began IAMRosa Photos. I love that I get to immerse myself in other people’s life events, dreams, and goals with every picture I take. This industry has allowed me to meet amazing people in different industries and from multiple parts of the world.

The ability I have to capture individual’s essence in important moments of their lives is priceless!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The first year was crucial for me. It was a time of a lot of learning because it was not a hobby anymore for me. It took countless hours of practice, of editing screw-ups, of lense changes, of equipment failures in order to develop a system that worked well for me. I look back now and realize I have grown in many ways as it took discipline and hard effort to get to where I am now. I am grateful for those that gave me the opportunity when I first started this journey as a photographer.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
IAMRosa photos has allowed me to invest in others’ confidence, image, and creativity. I believe the art of photography isn’t taken as serious as it should. I pride in the connections I build with others along the way and how I am a part of documenting life memories. IAMRosa photos exists to establish a bridge between different cultures and beliefs allowing the community to share something in common, and that is embracing their individuality.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the diversity in our city. Any corner I go to I enjoy listening to others speak in different languages. I also like that there is a big emphasis on family and culture-oriented events in the area.
