Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabatini Ferdinand.
Hi Sabatini, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I worked for Marriott International as a full-time server for eight years and then COVID happened and was laid off for seven months. At that time, a friend introduced me to the virtual assistant industry and said I’d be great at it. She sent me a course to join to learn about it, so I registered and decided to give it a shot. I was a travel/food blogger, so I had that background on social media which helped a lot when it came to marketing this new venture on Instagram. I eventually started gaining clients RAPIDLY (who knew all these online businesses needed this much help!)
I went from making $300/a month as a VA alongside unemployment while I waited for my job to call us back to making $8000 in a single month! Because of this rapid growth, the inquiries started rolling in (how I did it, where did I get started, etc.) So, I met Karina, my business coach, who helped me package my knowledge into an online course so I can teach others to do the same as I did, but with a fraction of the headaches.
I launched the course with only myself as testimony and welcomed 35 students and generated 25k in sales in 2 weeks. I’ve worked with clients who have partnered with Google, Squarespace, Forbes to say the least.
My signature program In Demand VA has successfully helped over 180 women in the last 2 years start their virtual assistant business,
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s really hard to go from being a server to being a full-time entrepreneur when you’ve never done it before.
One of my biggest challenges has been trying to please everyone. Every consumer isn’t your ideal client, you have to be okay with doing you best and knowing it will attract the people who appreciate that.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a full-time founder & CEO of a virtual assistant mentorship program. In my day-to-day, I am reviewing my students’ homework, approve social content from my social media manager, respond to my online business manager’s needs, and delegate anything that’s out of zone of genius.
I’m known as The Boss Lady, who has created an online community for women all over the world to package their knowledge and sell it as a service to online businesses. I’m also known as the matchmaker. After my students go through my program, they are then connected for free with entrepreneurs looking to hire a VA.
In just 2 years we’ve been able to offer over 400 jobs to my students in our private community.
We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I grew up VERY shy! So, to think I do a lot of public speaking for a living now is very wild because I would’ve never volunteered myself.
I’m also a JR.
