Daily Inspiration: Meet Sailen Bhattarai

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sailen Bhattarai.

Hi Sailen, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Food has always been more than just something to eat for me—it’s a way to connect with people, cultures, and memories. I’ve always loved cooking, watching cooking shows, traveling, and discovering how different cultures bring people together through food. Every trip inspires me to learn new flavors and techniques that I can recreate in my own kitchen.

Outside the kitchen, I’m a Product Manager, a DJ, and a huge sports fanatic. No matter how busy life gets, cooking has always been my creative outlet and my happy place. I truly believe that food is one of the best forms of medicine—it brings comfort, creates connections, and fills life with joy.

That’s what inspired me to start Sai’s Fusion Food: a place where I can share my passion for cooking, experiment with flavors from around the world, and inspire others to explore new dishes. Whether it’s a family recipe, a fusion creation, or a meal inspired by my travels, I’m excited to share this journey with you. Welcome to my table!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like most people, I’ve had to balance a full-time career, personal commitments, and other passions while trying to make time for cooking. Between working as a Product Manager, DJing events, and staying active in sports, and other side gigs finding the time and energy to consistently create recipes and content has been one of my biggest challenges.

Another challenge has been stepping outside my comfort zone and sharing my cooking publicly. You’re always learning, experimenting, and not every dish turns out the way you imagined—and that’s okay. Every mistake has taught me something new and helped me grow.

The journey has reminded me that cooking isn’t about perfection. It’s about being creative, enjoying the process, and bringing people together through good food.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
By profession, I’m a Product Manager, but outside of work, I’m a DJ, a sports enthusiast, an avid traveler, and most importantly, someone who genuinely loves food. Sai’s Fusion Food is where all of those passions come together.

I specialize in creating dishes inspired by different cultures, adding my own twist while keeping the authentic flavors and stories behind them. I enjoy experimenting with ingredients, recreating meals I’ve discovered while traveling, and showing that great food doesn’t have to be complicated.

What I’m most proud of is being able to connect people through food. Whether it’s cooking for family and friends or sharing recipes online, seeing people enjoy something I’ve made is incredibly rewarding.

I think what sets me apart is my curiosity. I’m always learning—through travel, conversations with people from different backgrounds, and exploring cuisines from around the world. I don’t just cook recipes; I love understanding the culture, traditions, and history behind every dish. My goal with Sai’s Fusion Food is to inspire others to step outside their comfort zone, try something new, and discover how food can bring people together.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is bringing people together. Whether it’s through food, music, sports, or travel, I love creating experiences that help people connect and make lasting memories.

I believe food has a unique way of crossing cultures and languages. A shared meal can spark conversations, strengthen relationships, and make someone feel at home. That’s why I enjoy learning about different cuisines and the stories behind them—it reminds me that we’re all more connected than we think.

For me, success isn’t just about creating a great dish; it’s about seeing people smile, try something new, and enjoy the moment together. If Sai’s Fusion Food can inspire even one person to cook, explore a new culture, or share a meal with loved ones, then I’ve accomplished what matters most.
