Daily Inspiration: Meet Sarah Sanchez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Sanchez.

Hi Sarah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started making at-home CBD treats for my very own dogs bc of a crazy squirrel infestation in my neighborhood lol and they drove one of our dogs crazy. When I realized I had so much leftover I decided to give them to friends who complained about similar issues with their pets. I looked all around to see who was doing homemade dog treats and noticed there were only corporate stores readily available. So, I made our grand entrance on Instagram October 31st, 2019. The following year I had to take a break as my grandmother was gravely ill and my father needed my help with translating and understanding my grandmother’s care prior to her passing august of that year. It was a traumatic experience that I wish upon no one but knew I’d return. So when I did, I pushed harder than I had ever done in the previous year. I made different packages, shapes, offered more than just CBD treats I started doing cakes. I wanted to make our line gourmet and something that you could mistaken for a human sweet (and kids have accidentally bit into my Pastries lol). Then came our invite to a pop-up and I was Super nervous I just knew I had made way too much that I came home with almost all my inventory. Still not letting one experience define me, I pushed and signed up for every pop-up I could and was invited to. All the while working a full-time job, managing household chores, and 2 children in school. I’ve since partnered with Grand Prairie shelter and the mesquite shelter for events and even offering free “gotcha” cakes for people who adopted a dog from the shelter considering many ppl were headed back into the office and dropping the dogs off at shelters every hour, and NUBIA’s Drive Thru doing block party markets that brings the community together and showcasing local and small businesses alike.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Learning to time manage with my full-time employment. It’s a task but a task I’ve been willing to work through because I know in the end one day, I’ll be doing this full time and not have to worry about if my office phone is ringing and having to run to the phone with dough in between my fingers lol.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m known for my customers giving me a theme/idea or just asking me to do whatever. They’ve entrusted me to make a unique only for them and never duplicated pastry. Or my random bulk orders that I will offer that you can’t find at corporate pet stores and the guarantee that everything is fresh, from scratch, and 100% dog safe.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
My enthusiasm and my passion for animal appreciation.
