Today we’d like to introduce you to Seth Mitchell
Hi Seth, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always loved art as a kid, and i would draw a lot. specifically characters and i would give them costumes and outfits. As i got older my art began to express itself in another way, through makeup. Starting in 7th grade, i began experimenting with makeup and fashion. I had only done it on myself up until 2022 when i started practicing on my friends.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I definitely give my all in every glam that i do, however there’s always something i see in photos that i could’ve improved in. i’ve noticed myself get better in every glam that i do, but being transparent the results aren’t reflective in my success with building clientele. im still trying new things and figuring out what the secret is to this.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a makeup artist i have to be well rounded. I want to execute every glam to the best of my ability, whether it’s a colorful drag look or an everyday-glowy glam. I have been trying out different makeup styles from different areas of the world, by different makeup artists around the world and really have kind of created my own style of makeup by taking inspo from each of them. i like to make my glam sessions enjoyable and calm. I treat every client as if they’re a good friend of mine and we’re catching up! This has been a passion of mine for as long as i can remember and i take pride in every look i do.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t think i’ve had much good or bad luck pertaining to this. It’s really easy for people including myself to give up on something that doesn’t come “naturally” i guess or if you’re not seeing instant results. Sometimes you don’t know if you’re on the right path because of this but the day you give up could be the day you get everything you’ve ever wanted. I’ve really fallen in love with the process of this and am excited to keep sharing my art

- $25 to travel
