Daily Inspiration: Meet Shaad

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaad.

Hi Shaad, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve had an infatuation with music since I was one year old. My parents said I use to be in the baby crib jumping to crisscross lol. I started my music Journey in 6th grade. That was actually my first time going to the studio and also writing my first song (my time to Shine). Over time I never gave up on what I wanted I kept writing and getting better. I have did shows all over Texas, some in Atlanta and Florida as well. I went to school to learn the business side of music, which helped a lot. At this point in my journey, I have gotten farther than I have ever been, but I feel like it’s only the beginning.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely did not come easy! I’ve encountered obstacles. I’ve had a lot of no’s, but it only took one, yes to turn things around. I’ve lost friends and family over doing something that I love, I lost plenty of music that I have written. It has been plenty of times where I wanted to give up because things were not going as planned, but God and people that support me wouldn’t let me quit. I love them for that!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an artist. Music is my passion. Rather I’m writing for myself or others. A lot of people don’t know I started out writing poems, but music has always been my first love. What I’m proud of the most is been able to hear myself on the Radio or people telling me, “Hey, I heard your song on the radio.”

What sets you apart from others?
I would say my Lyrical content. You can relate to it, it lifts you up, it’s shows you that some artists still do it for the love of music and have something to say.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Make sure you learn about the business side of music, it’s more than just getting in the studio and making a song. Also, if you fail, don’t give up, look at it as a lesson. Learn from it and keep perfecting your craft!
