Today we’d like to introduce you to Shea Joseph.
Hi Shea, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve done a lot of administrative work over the years inside and outside of the office. I have a few friends and family members that have small businesses and a lot of times I help them with managing their business. Last year my son started having seizures and I found myself needing to ask for a lot of time off of work and I began to get frustrated with needing to ask for permission to care for my child.
I was scrolling through TikTok one day and I saw someone post about being a Virtual Assistant working from home setting their own hours and I thought to myself “wow I do this stuff already.” I spent weeks researching how to get started and that’s when I came up with The Virtual Connect offering VA services
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So far, the journey has been smooth, I am 8 weeks postpartum right now so managing a newborn, a toddler and an 8 yr. old the process has been fun, the only challenge I have faced is marketing myself and networking with others.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Certified Medical Assistant with 12 years of experience in my field. I am most proud of my skills to quickly advance and also build relationships and connect with my patients. I’m most known for my willingness to help and get answers for those seeking them. I spend a lot of time on google so I can research something and quickly find the answers.
What are your plans for the future?
My future plans include leaving corporate America completely while running an international virtual assistant business. I want to connect with business owners worldwide helping them advance.
