Daily Inspiration: Meet Skye Phillips

Today we’d like to introduce you to Skye Phillips.

Skye, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I spent a good bit of time researching, calculafing operating costs, designing a website, and building a brand, before officially Facebook launching Peachy Clean Mobile Laundry Service on International Laundry Day in 2024.

To market my service- I posted flyers, handed out business cards, did a Teacher Appreciation giveaway, and joined every single Facebook group I could find.

It was a small start – as in, $45 in my first month small. But consistency paid off, because one client turned into two, and two turned to four, and soon, I had a steady rotation of loyal regulars.

Client communication, scheduling, washing, folding, packaging – it was all me, and took place right inside my home. As word of mouth increased, so did the demand and my one-woman operation morphed into a family effort – with my daughter flipping loads to the dryer while my husband and son helped me with pick-up and deliveries. When I started pulling all-nighters to keep up with orders, that’s when it hit me. “Okay… this is something. And this something could be even bigger.”

11 months after kicking off the business, I posted in a local mom group that Peachy Clean was hiring. I juggled a packed laundry schedule, did in home interviews and hosted training sessions, while simultaneously expanding my coverage area from one town to the next.

Now with a carefully built team of contract washers, Peachy Clean serves clients across 13 towns and cities, with Fort Worth as our newest addition.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest struggles was the moment the demand outgrew just me. That sounds like a good problem – and it is BUT it also meant investing in upgraded equipment, bringing on help without losing the personal touch that built the business, and keeping up with demand while maintaining Peachy Clean standards.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Our motto is “Make Life Peachy” and that’s exactly what we do by taking one of the most time consuming household tasks off our clients’ plates.

Laundry is picked up right at their front door and returned fresh, folded and ready to put away – or neatly organized and closet ready on hangers depending on preference.

What sets us apart is the level of care behind the scenes. All washers are personally vetted, and we follow strict sanitizing procedures in clean, in-home environments. No laundromats -ever.
From communication and turnaround times to quality folding and intentional packaging, consistency is the standard.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next 5-10 yrs, I see the laundry service industry continuing to grow as people look for ways to save time and simply routines. For some its considered a luxury, but for many, busy families, professionals, those with limited time and full plates, it’s becoming something they depend on regularly.

As the industry expands, I forsee more services leaning heavily on automation, copy and paste marketing and generic booking models. My plan for Peachy Clean, is continued growth while keeping the human element intact. If that means more hands on board – so be it. I want clients to feel taken care of – not processed.
As for the future of Peachy Clean, I’m challenging myself to see just how far I can take it.
