Hi SoulArty, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I was born in Garland; now I live in North Dallas. I started rapping in high school, just freestyles and shit in the hallways. Never took music too seriously, just a few tracks here and there. I was in a group beforehand, and things didn’t work out so I went solo and eventually got with GTH, and it felt like coming home. In the GTH family, it’s like we cultivate creativity and hustle. Since joining, I started two side businesses and dropped my first album, SoulArty SZN, and I’m currently working on my next project now.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. Several times music had to take a backseat because of things I had to take care of. At one point I was working so much I had no spare time, I would get home, eat, pass out, and do it again the next day. Thankfully I found a job that allows me to have time and money to put into music
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I rap, I make my own moisturizer called Soul’s Gold Body Butter, and I customize shoes, especially forces. I pride myself in lyrical ability on the music side, and my body butter is amazing. Leaves your skin nourished and smooth. My shoes are dope, I’m just getting started there, but I enjoy doing custom colorways that you can’t buy in store
