Today we’d like to introduce you to Stevan Hass.
Hi Stevan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a Denver-born and Texas-raised graphic designer, and I also manage a small sign company in DFW. My love for computer graphics, printing, and vinyl work goes back as far as I can remember. I was printing paper banners on Apple II computers starting in 1st grade, good ol Dot Matrix style! Having a computer at home also gave me the ability to mess around with coding, colors, and shapes with my Commodore 64! When I got up to high school, I was able to get into a more advanced graphics class, which introduced me to adhesive vinyl stickers, shirt designs, and other production aspects that I still do today. I found my current path in 2003 when I briefly went to a trade school to learn true graphic design.
I started Hass Productions in 2006 as a way to offer my services and goods to friends and family. After a few years in the sign industry, I felt confident enough to bring my skills to the masses. Since then, I have grown my brand to become one of the best in DFW. My turnaround times and ability to offer a wide range of goods really set me apart from the competition. I also like to think my product quality is a step or two above other vendors. I also offer delivery services around the metroplex, which most people don’t provide.
All of those qualities have led me to work for some big-name events, organizations, and groups in the DFW area over the years. I have also been fortunate enough to work for and with some of my heroes growing up, as I am print provider for some well-known voice actors.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
If you aren’t running into some sort of rough spots running any business, are you really doing it right? The biggest struggle is keeping a low enough price point to keep people coming back, while also offering the best quality products out there. There are tons of places that offer the same type of goods, but you won’t find a better combination of the things that matter most!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
If you need stickers, you need banners, you need graphics… Hass Productions! That hook from my jingle pretty much says it all. Most people know to come to me for stickers and other print goods, but I offer almost any type of sign you can think of, as well as vehicle wraps.
My service and turnaround is what I think sets me apart, along with my knowledge of how to make your vision a reality. People know they can come to me, and if I can’t make it happen, I can tell you how to get where you’re going.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Younger me was very much a quiet, keep-to-myself, nerdy little guy. I am not too much different now, but I have found my calling and being good at what I do gives me more confidence. You could find me playing video games with my small circle of friends or out riding bikes around town. I was into sports, band, and definitely computers and anything electronic. My parents were fortunate enough to keep me busy with my own computer and different gaming systems, so I have always been trying to learn and get better at those.
