Today we’d like to introduce you to T. Prescott.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My dad has always been an avid photographer since I was growing up, so to a certain extent, photography has always been a part of my life in one way another. However, it wasn’t until early 2020 when I bought my first DSLR that I actually set out on my own photo journey. The COVID shutdowns later that same year gave me ample time off from my usual bartending gig, so I was able to focus on growing more comfortable with my equipment and really developing my style. I got a foothold with the business aspect selling prints and frames on the side and decided in 2021 to pursue a more direct expansion of my business.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve been lucky to have had a fairly smooth road so far! The only real struggle to this point has just been familiarizing myself and growing comfortable with the process of successfully starting my business from the ground up.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Stylistically, I shoot monochrome/black and white pictures drawing mostly from minimalist, precisionist, and gothic styles. The city is my main playground – I love doing cityscape and city scene shots – but I’m also super happy scrambling up mountains and through woods getting landscape and nature pictures.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I’m thankful to have a wealth of friends that have been incredibly supportive in so many ways as I’ve been starting this venture. From moral support to buying prints, inspiring me with ideas and commissions, and even getting me magazine interviews (thanks, Vanessa).
