Daily Inspiration: Meet Takiya Savage

Today we’d like to introduce you to Takiya Savage.

Hi Takiya, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Growing up, I didn’t really have electronics and tech things as these new generation of kids do. I got my first phone when I was in like 5th-6th grade, and it was a little flip phone, so not really much to do on it. But around 7th grade, I managed to get a Pink iPhone 5c, and around then, I was introduced to social media heavily. I started recording dance videos on the app Dubsmash (which is not longer available to use) and managed to get my Instagram account to about 4k followers just dancing and making content up to my freshman year in high-school. Around that time, TikTok became more popular, and I decided to switch platforms and move my content making to there. I started with like 500 followers just off of the ones I gained backed when TikTok was called “Musical.ly,” but as I continued to make content, I reached 100k followers within 2 months from a viral video of me with a taser called “sing or get tased “ and It was fast, and my followers were coming in like crazy because that video had received 1.4m views and so then my Instagram account started going up to like 10k then 14k and now 17k and so I started getting into the thought process of using my page to do MORE than just post content, I wanted to model clothes and jewelry for people, so I used that and became a Multi-brand ambassador! So not only do I have to take on the responsibility of posting to keep my followers active and keep the content pure, but I also have to worry about promotion offers and collaborations, and day by day, I can say I’ve truly learned something new every day, and I know younger me would be so proud of how far I’ve become and even prouder to know that this is not even the finishing product! 1million followers is calling my name!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely haven’t been a smooth road which I didn’t expect at all. Being a social media influencer or Content creator it comes with drama. Sometimes even things you can’t control, but it’s up to you on how you go about it that would determine if you’d pass that though mission or not. It was times I gave up on TikTok for the simple fact of constant negative content or being negatively impacted and discouraged by other influencers who were more “known” than I was, so I had took a lot of breaks and time away from social media and started losing followers, but it didn’t take me long to recover and hop back into it and gaining more followers than I lost!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an upcoming public figure, aka social media influencer or content creator. I’m most proud of the fact that I am multi-talented, and I’m using social media to spread a positive name for myself for what I have in store for my future. I want to show people that social media isn’t as negative as people make it seem and that it could really help one get where they need to go like as if it’s a booster start. But what truly sets me apart from others is my strive and dedication to become MORE than just some girl from TikTok or from Instagram; I want to have more than one thing going for myself. For example, I’ve been working on producing a clothing line and a cosmetic line as well to really expand my name and brand while also still support other companies with being their ambassador/model.

So, it’s a lot that I have planned, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me!

What do you think about luck?
I would say luck did me a favor just by the fact that I went viral on my FIRST TikTok I ever posted in which I did not expect nothing more than 1k views, and it ended up boosting to 1.4million.

The bad luck did me a favor when it came down to being frustrated with the failures of networking with others on social media who weren’t as nice as they seemed but really just trying to find my place within.
