Daily Inspiration: Meet Tiffany Ruby

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Ruby

Hi Tiffany, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my journey in tattooing with a deep appreciation for art and self-expression. At first, I was drawn to permanent makeup, mastering techniques like microblading and lip blushing, but I quickly realized that my passion extended beyond that—I wanted to create lasting artwork on the skin. That’s when I transitioned into tattooing, focusing on fineline and minimalistic designs.

It wasn’t an easy path. Like many artists, I struggled with self-doubt, finding the right mentors, and building a client base. Over time, I refined my craft and developed a strong following, especially in St. Louis, where I opened my private studio. My studio is designed to be a comfortable and welcoming space, allowing me to connect with clients on a deeper level.

Recently, I started working in Dallas, which has been both exciting and challenging. Working in a new city means starting over—building trust with new clients, making the right connections, and proving myself in a new market. It’s not just about talent; it’s about forming relationships and understanding what people are looking for in their tattoos.

My work is deeply spiritual for me. I believe tattoos hold energy, and I want each piece I create to carry meaning for the person wearing it. Whether it’s a simple design or something more intricate, my goal is to give people something that resonates with them beyond just aesthetics.

This journey has had its ups and downs, but every challenge has shaped me into the artist I am today. I’m honored to be growing in new cities and connecting with people across the U.S. who trust me with their tattoos—it’s something I don’t take for granted.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Tattooing is an industry where nothing is handed to you, and you have to earn every bit of trust and recognition.

Early on, one of my biggest struggles was finding the right mentors and refining my technique. Tattooing isn’t just about artistic ability; it’s a craft that takes years of dedication, and I had to push myself constantly to improve. There were times when I doubted whether I was good enough or if I would ever make a name for myself.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in fineline and minimalistic tattoos—delicate, precise designs that focus on detail and elegance. My work is all about creating meaningful, timeless pieces that complement the natural flow of the body.

What sets me apart is my spiritual approach to tattooing. I believe tattoos hold energy, and I want every piece I create to carry intention and significance for the person wearing it. Whether it’s a simple design or something more intricate, I take the time to understand what the tattoo means to my client, ensuring it resonates with them on a deeper level.

I’m most proud of the trust I’ve built with my clients. Tattooing is an intimate experience—people come to me to mark moments in their lives, honor loved ones, or express parts of themselves they can’t always put into words. Knowing that clients trust me with something so permanent is an honor I don’t take lightly.

Beyond the art itself, I also focus on creating a comfortable and welcoming environment in my studio. Getting a tattoo should be a positive and memorable experience, and I do my best to make sure every client feels safe, heard, and valued.

Now that I’m working in Dallas, I’m excited to bring this same level of care and artistry to a new audience. It’s been a challenge to establish myself in a new city, but I know that the right people will connect with my work and my approach over time.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was always artistic. I loved creating, and finding different ways to express myself visually. Art was my escape—it allowed me to explore emotions and ideas in a way that words couldn’t. I was also a bit of a perfectionist, always pushing myself to get better at whatever I was passionate about.

I’ve always had a deep appreciation for individuality and self-expression, which naturally led me to the world of tattoos. I was drawn to the idea that art could live on the body permanently, carrying meaning and energy with it. Even before I started tattooing, I knew I wanted to do something creative that allowed me to connect with people on a deeper level.

Personality-wise, I’ve always been a mix of introspective and determined. I’m spiritual and intuitive, and I tend to see the deeper meaning in things, which influences my approach to tattooing. At the same time, I’ve had to develop a tough mindset—this industry isn’t easy, and you have to believe in yourself even when things get difficult.

Looking back, everything I loved growing up—art, meaning, connection—has shaped the way I tattoo today. It’s not just about putting ink on skin; it’s about creating something lasting and intentional for each person who sits in my chair.
