Daily Inspiration: Meet Timothy Champion

Today we’d like to introduce you to Timothy Champion.

Hi Timothy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Ever since our father paved the way by opening the doors of opportunities by passing down his resilience, work ethic & construction skills starting back in 1995. Those skills along with the skills acquired while serving the Army then business school, set me up for success. Using the VA and local resources to meet mentors to help guide me along my journey of starting a construction business. We revamped my father’s dream to carry on his legacy; we’ve been committed to our client’s unique project needs in achieving their utmost satisfaction with our quality & efficiency.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road was bumpy but are resilience allowed us to persevere as a small business. It’s always a challenge when trying to grow. We planned to start the business just didn’t realize that plan would be come with challenges when the pandemic hit the world. The hardest time in history for a builder to start a construction business. Material shortages, Subcontractor shortages, delays from every phase of the builds. On top of it, all inflation was a challenge for the clients to understand we did our best to help our clients and use our discount available and pass down to our clients. We are transparent with our homeowners on where we stand when it comes to cost and delivery issues. Being on the same page along the way allows a smooth transition.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We build affordable custom homes with turn-key wrap-around services. We are ecstatic about 0ur newest project. Currently in the preliminary designing phase to build our first neighborhood in Itasca, TX. Aside from that, we take pride in the ability to give back to our community. By uplifting our future generation tradesmen/woman. We are partnering up with a local trade school and GFW Builders Association to design a curriculum to implement a training program for companies in the construction industry to teach on-the-job training skills and safety requirements to earn credits and or trade certifications. This will keep the construction industry thriving.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Resilience is key! We have heard more no’s than yes’s, but that does not take away from our success thus far. They are all learning moments, whether it was a no or yes. Take what you did or did not do to apply in the future, follow up and follow through. Never give up. If you never try, how will you ever know what you’re capable of.
