Today we’d like to introduce you to Todd Turner.
Hi Todd, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey started in the world of church ministry and nonprofit work, where I spent over two decades helping organizations raise money online. But as the world shifted, I saw a huge gap. Many pastors and nonprofit leaders were overwhelmed by digital fundraising, and I knew I could help. That’s what led me to create ClickFunding, an online course that helps churches and nonprofits grow giving in a way that’s practical, strategic, and biblically grounded.
At the same time, I was going through a personal storm… my own divorce. As I began to heal, I noticed something missing in the Christian space: authentic, compassionate support for people walking through the pain of divorce. That’s when I launched the UnYoked Podcast, a safe place for Christian men and women to navigate life after divorce with honesty, faith, and maybe a little humor too.
So today, I split my time helping ministries fund their mission and helping individuals rebuild theirs. Two different tracks, but both rooted in the same calling, to offer hope and practical tools when people need them most.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road and I think most people doing meaningful work would say the same. From a business standpoint, launching something like ClickFunding meant going against the grain. A lot of churches and nonprofits are understandably cautious about online tools, and earning their trust took time. I had to learn how to communicate digital strategies in a way that felt both practical and biblical. That took trial and error, late nights, and plenty of moments wondering if I should just go back to doing things the “safe” way.
On the personal side, walking through a divorce as a Christian man brought its own set of struggles. The grief, the guilt, the way people treat you differently, there’s no playbook for that. And yet, it was in that brokenness that I found new clarity. Helping others walk through the same pain became a kind of redemption for me.
So no, it hasn’t been easy. But the hard roads are often the most refining and I’m thankful for both the bruises and the breakthroughs.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I help people build things that matter. A big part of my work is running ClickFunding, an online course that teaches pastors and nonprofit leaders how to grow generosity through digital tools. It’s practical, biblically grounded and designed for leaders who often feel overwhelmed by the world of websites, emails, and social media. I’ve spent years in church and nonprofit spaces, so I know firsthand how hard it can be to raise funds without burning out.
At the same time, I also host the UnYoked Podcast, which focuses on helping Christians heal after divorce. It’s a space for honest conversations, spiritual encouragement, and a little humor. I started it because I couldn’t find anything like it when I needed it most. Now it’s become a way to reach others walking the same road.
What makes my work different is that I’ve lived both sides of what I teach. I’ve walked through the pain of divorce and the challenges of leadership. I’ve had to figure things out the hard way. I think that gives me a unique voice… someone who’s not just offering advice but offering real-life experience.
What I’m most proud of is the feedback I get from people. Pastors who feel more confident about fundraising. Listeners who say they finally feel seen and understood. That’s what keeps me going.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
There are a few ways to connect with me. If you’re a pastor or nonprofit leader trying to figure out online giving, my ClickFunding course is a great starting point. It’s full of practical tools and training that make digital fundraising less confusing and more effective. I also work directly with a small number of churches and organizations each year, so if you’re looking for personal guidance, I’m happy to explore that.
For those walking through a divorce or helping someone who is, I’d love for you to check out the UnYoked Podcast. It’s honest, faith-filled, and meant to be a source of hope. Just sharing the podcast with someone who needs it goes a long way.
I’m always open to conversations and collaborations. Whether it’s teaming up on a project, being a guest on your podcast, or just swapping ideas over email, I enjoy working with people who care about making a real impact.
