Daily Inspiration: Meet Tracy Bennett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracy Bennett.

Tracy Bennett

Hi Tracy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We moved into our 1977 multi-level, Ranch-style home three months before the pandemic hit. I always had a passion for interior design, and since I have a creative mind and a degree in graphic design, the two meshed. Being confined to home for such a long period really gave me the opportunity to use that passion and finally design the home of our dreams. It started with selling all the furniture we had from our previous home and starting with a clean slate. I knew I wanted lots of bold colors mixed with my love and collection of art over the years. As I started to pull each room together, I wanted to share my experience with everyone and show everyone how to decorate and DIY your home to make it a place you truly love. And it grew from there. I started sharing on Instagram (and now a little on TikTok), and my love and passion grew, as did my expertise from failing and trying again. The result? A home that is uniquely “us” that I can proudly say I’ve created myself.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The only rough patches I have hit along the way have been learning new tools and skills, and sometimes, that meant making mistakes and having to start over. However, each mistake leads to learning and knowledge, which then makes the next project easier and more enjoyable.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have a degree in Graphic Design and have always had a passion for home design. I would say my friends often say, “Oh, she’s an interior designer, although I am not by trade, but by passion.” I’ll gladly wear the title of home design guru or passionista with a graphic design background. I am most proud of each room I decorate and create with my own hands, as most of the makeovers I have done have been 99% all me with no professional help. I think what sets me apart from others is my dual creativity, if you will, in both the design fields and my eye for a good room layout when no one else can troubleshoot it. I can mix styles, patterns, and colors into a room to make it feel cohesive. Most importantly, what I really think sets me apart is my ability to set aside trends and show you how to incorporate sentimental pieces and things you truly love into any space to make them unique to you and your home.

What’s next?
My future plans are to grow on social media and work with brands to share products and services I love that I know can and will benefit others on their home design or home DIY journey–no matter where you are already in that journey.
