Scents of Agape started as a passion project for my husband, Jerry, who has always had a deep love for fragrances and the art of scent creation. His enthusiasm for exploring different aromas and blending unique notes inspired us to turn this passion into a business. Over time, I began receiving countless compliments on how wonderful I smelled, all thanks to the exquisite fragrances he crafted. These positive reactions not only boosted my confidence but also highlighted the impact that a beautiful scent can have on one’s presence. This feedback motivated us to share his creations with a wider audience, allowing others to experience the joy and allure of his fragrances, and thus, Scents of Agape was born. With over twenty years of a loving marriage as our foundation, we pour our hearts into every product we create, driven by a deep commitment to our faith and to one another. Our journey together has been a testament to the power of love, both for God, and for each other, and we strive to infuse that essence into everything we offer. We believe that when you choose our products, you are not just making a purchase; you are experiencing the warmth, joy, and devotion that have characterized our relationship. Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting and running a small business has been an exciting journey, but it hasn’t come without its challenges. Like many small businesses, we’ve faced difficulties in getting the word out and connecting with the right audience. Our efforts to promote the business has been a learning curve – from limited marking budgets to trying to find the most effective channels for reaching potential customers. Despite our passion and hard work, we’ve encountered hurdles like standing out in a crowded market, and figuring out the best way to communicate our value. However, each setback has provided us with valuable lessons, and we’re continually improving our approach to grow our business in a sustainable way.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is the day my siblings and I went to Cedar Point in Ohio together. With seven of us, it was a bit chaotic, but that day felt magical. We spent hours racing from ride to ride, laughing, and trying to outdo each other on the roller coasters. There was something special about all of us being together, sharing the excitement and thrills, and even waiting in long lines became part of the fun. By the end of the day, we were all exhausted, but the memory of being surrounded by my siblings, all of us grinning from ear to ear, has stayed with me ever since.
