Today we’d like to introduce you to Zach Farris.
Hi Zach, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I was always interested in film. When I was about 12 or 13, I used to tell people, I wanted to direct movies. I was able to utilize my skills throughout the years with various cameras and some awesome experiences. I started my own company NOKINGSABOVE in 2022 but it’s really been a process over the last 10 to 12 years.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a road for sure haha. I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs. I lost my dad in 2019 and it set me in a pretty dark place. But he had such an eye and ear for music and video. It feels now as if I’m carrying out his legacy and building a legacy for my own family one day.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a professional videographer. I specialize in cinematic videography and I love getting that “film look”. I’m most proud of this music video I’m shooting here in a couple of days and by the time this gets out, the video will be out so be sure to check it out! I’m overall really just proud of the people in my life who have supported me and have shown me that chasing dreams is not only a way to live but THE way to live.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Dallas always has a special place in my heart, I grew up here and there’s so many artistic things about this city that I can’t say I find in others. The community is so close together and everyone wants to collaborate creatively in all kinds of ways. It’s honestly refreshing.
