Today we’d like to introduce you to Zunek Ali.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up on watching others eating food. Tv shows like man vs food and diners drive ins and dives. Once social media started popping off, I watched food videos every day and one day said “why not try this myself” and posted my first video. I was only meant to do it for 6 months because that’s how long I thought it would take to make money. Unfortunately after 6 months I still made nothing. Fortunately, I fell in love with it and was consistently posting 1, 2 or 3 times day. After almost 2 and a half years, i finally made something. Not a lot but I saw the progress. At this point, money was never the goal, I did it for the love of the game. I truly love what I do
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some days you aren’t in the mood to eat that new food that just came out, not even hungry enough but you do it for the TikTok post and those who want to see me eat it lol. Many times I’ve wanted to completely quit because I didn’t think people were enjoying my videos even though I was getting followers. I kept looking at others and thinking “why am I not there yet”. I had to pray and god had always keep my going. It’s very difficult to be an influencer, everything you do is on your own. Very little help from people, not just other content creators but friends and family as well. Some wouldn’t even want to record a video of me eating even though they knew it was my job. Everything you do is a solo job, you just have to find the right people around you and that’s where I am in my journey.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in being myself, on and off camera. I do nothing special or different other than being myself. I feel like if people follow me, they don’t just follow for the food reviews but the person that’s in them. My passion to eat food and share it with the world outweighs the thoughts others have on how I look.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I left my job to do this full time even tho I still wasn’t making any money off of videos. I ended up getting a job and absolutely hated it, left and did content full time AGAIN! What I knew from there is that there is no way I can work for another person, I had to figure it out on my own. After 2 and a half years of making daily content, I finally made my first dollar off tiktok and have never looked back. Once I saw my first $200 months on tiktok, I know I could get better and understand the game more. Here we are!
