Wynita, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are a balance of family and business. After getting my daughter ready for school, I dive into work by reviewing new inquiries, following up with clients, and responding to emails. From there, my mornings shift depending on the week—sometimes I’m creating mood boards, other times I’m picking up rentals, or managing a blend of both. I also make it a priority to connect with my preferred vendors, reviewing event details to ensure every upcoming celebration runs seamlessly.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Wynita Harmon, the founder and creative director of Art+Ink Event Styling, a boutique event styling company specializing in modern balloon installations, luxury backdrops, and custom event design. We also offer event planning services. What makes Art+Ink special is the way we blend artful detail with thoughtful storytelling—every celebration we style is curated to feel one-of-a-kind, personal, and unforgettable.
My journey started as an art educator, and that creative foundation influences everything I do today. I see events as living canvases, where design, color, and texture come together to create experiences that spark joy and connection. From intimate gatherings to large-scale celebrations, we focus on transforming spaces into something extraordinary while making the planning process seamless for our clients.
Right now, we’re expanding our catalog of bespoke backdrops and statement rentals while continuing to collaborate with incredible local vendors. Whether it’s a milestone birthday, wedding, or corporate activation, our goal is always the same—to bring elevated style and artistry to life’s most meaningful moments.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There was a time I was working on an outdoor install and the weather was absolutely brutal—wind everywhere, and nothing seemed to be going as planned. For a moment, I wanted to give up, but I’m both determined and deeply committed to never letting my clients—or myself—down. Instead of walking away, I pushed through, problem-solved on the spot, and found creative solutions to make the design work. In the end, everything came together beautifully, and it was a powerful reminder that perseverance and flexibility are just as important as creativity in this business.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would probably say that I’m the one who loves bringing everyone together to hang out and have a good time. They’d describe me as a good listener who’s always there when they need support, but also someone who knows how to be silly and keep things fun. I do my best to be a positive voice in their lives—pushing them to go after what they want and celebrating their wins right alongside them.

I hope people would share that I truly understood life as a gift—something never to be taken for granted but to be lived fully and joyfully. That I made it a point to live each day with intention, to pour love into the people around me, and to embrace both the little moments and the big celebrations with the same enthusiasm. I would want them to remember that I loved fiercely, cared deeply, and always looked for reasons to celebrate life’s beauty. My hope is that my story encourages others to do the same—to live boldly, chase joy, and never hold back from loving and enjoying the life they’ve been given.
