Ebony Frank Russell of Mesquite on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Ebony Frank Russell shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Ebony, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Something outside of work that has brought me a lot of joy is physical fitness and/or martial arts. I’ve been into martial arts since 2015 when I joined Judo and I’ve loved it ever since. Now I’m into Boxing, Muay Thai, and MMA. I have aspirations of joining the UFC after my training is complete.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Ebony Frank Russell. I am 33 and I am originally from Lafayette, LA. I am now in Dallas, Texas. I have a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science in Health and Nutrition Education. In the future I plan on taking my board exam to become a CHHP(Certified Holistic Health Practitioner. My business is called My Natural Revival and it focuses on holistic medicine. My website also has a variety of products that are handmade with natural and organic ingredients. Website:mynaturalrevival.com

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
I would say that my dad saw me clearly before I could see myself. He always told me growing up that I would be someone special one day. I didn’t truly see what he was talking about until I found my purpose, which was running my own holistic wellness business.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If there was one thing I could say to my younger self it would be to “keep going”.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that holistic wellness really matters a lot to me. I could talk all day about it and it is something I’m really passionate about.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
Honestly, I feel most at peace outside in nature.
