Inspiring Conversations with Stephanie Sherman of Sherman Law

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Sherman.

Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up riding horses in Central Texas. I have always been interested in psychology and the human experience. After graduating with honors from Texas Christian University with a degree in psychology and minor in philosophy, I decided I needed keep going and either go to law school or medical school to become a neuropsychologist. The road to law school was much shorter.

I started representing cancer victims one year out of law school and continued only representing people for my career. I spent 17 years under the mentorship of an elite national trial law who recovered hundreds of millions of dollars from bad companies who poisoned people and workers. A few years ago, I decided I could stand on my own and have never looked back. Part of that decision was that I wanted to be more available to my family and create a virtual law firm where I could work anywhere and represent anyone from any state. I often seek pro hac vice admission in cases in other states in states where I am not licensed.

I am a Texas and California licensed lawyer with a nationwide practice focusing on crashes, serious injury, wrongful death, sexual assault, pesticides, products liability, and mental health malpractice,

“I naturally gravitate towards the underdog and the most vulnerable of our society. I am so grateful to be part of the healing journey of many in their path to justice.”

I have expertise litigating small to high-value, complex cases, contamination cases, and mass torts resulting in millions of dollars in recovery for my clients. Sherman Law’s mission is to provide the highest level of personal and focused legal services to victims in California, Texas, and across the country. My firm is selective so she can provide one-on-one service to all clients. The client experience is a high priority. My clients have 24/7 access to their file and all events. There is full transparency.

For my accomplishments, I was selected as Texas Monthly Magazine’s Texas Rising Stars and the National Trial Lawyer’s Texas top 100, 2017-2020. I am a compassionate leader, strategist, organizer, optimist, and innovator that thrives on problem-solving and an “all in” team mentality for success. As a result of many years of advocacy coupled with mindfulness training and practice, she is able to deliver the highest level of sophisticated and creative legal solutions for my clients coming from a grounded view.

“It’s an honor to stand strong, focused, and prepared for my clients, whatever their needs, background, status, and challenges. For my free time, I am in nature and books, with animals and family. Always curious, wandering, and learning. I love celebrating the success of my clients and lawyer colleagues and am always happy to share what I have learned along the path to justice.”

“It is my greatest honor to provide access to the justice system so victims can get on a level playing field with powerful companies. My work is to go after the bad guys for their misconduct and give my clients the resources, support, and advocacy they deserve. I can’t put the bad guys in jail, but I can make them pay and help make the world safer and more compassionate.”

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The road has not been smooth. In 2015 I had a personal health crisis that forced me to look at the way I was working and living. I was very hard on myself and it was no longer working. I stopped, rested, reflected, and did some work on myself that has led to a total mind shift. The obstacle in 2015 was the way to a new way of being and advocating. I am so grateful.

We’ve been impressed with Sherman Law, P.C., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am known for being an advocate for justice. I am for the little guy that is being run over by big pharma and big corporation. I known for litigation high stakes cancer cases resulting from dangerous chemicals in products, but with my interest and education in psychology and cognitive science, I have expanded my practice into accidents and events that result in physical and emotional trauma including post-traumatic stress disorder and other conditions lawsuits don’t acknowledge but that are life-changing for survivors.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t think of luck, but more of the right positive mindset and from that, attracting positive events and success. You can’t have a positive life with a negative mind. You have the option to decide how you view the events and stories in your life and I have found that always looking for the silver lining yields the best results. Even if you don’t get your way, the positive minds keeps you forward moving.
