Today we’d like to introduce you to Abigail Ezmerlian.
Hi Abigail , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have been an esthetician for over 4 years now. When I was 19 I didn’t know where life would take me next so my mom was the one who told me to go to trade school and get my esthetician license! I started school and my main goal was the fix my skin — I had the worst acne. Once I fixed my skin, I loved that feeling so I wanted everyone else to feel that confidence. Once I graduated I got a job at a waxing chain where I worked there for 3 years. I was management, I was on their marketing team and I helped them create services while also waxing. Doing it all made me realize that if I can do it for another business I can do it for my own. I started getting all the equipment I needed for my new business then I found out I was pregnant. Everyone told me to stay with the waxing chain but I knew I could do it. I quit my job in August 2025 andd opened my business. I am now 7 months pregnant with a successful business, bringing new clients in every day ! This has been a huge blessing for me, I didn’t realize how toxic and draining it was to work for that company until I left.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road of course because I’m opening a brand new business and working through all the kinks of how running a business works. The hardest part for me was actually having to slow down due to my pregnancy. I am the type of person to go until I drop but with my fatigue I had to slow down, listen to my body, and ask for help. While yes it’s been hard — it would’ve been 10x harder if I was working for that waxing chain. Everyday I wake up with a smile on my face and no matter how hard my day was or how discouraged I feel I still go to bed feeling so blessed!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business, Bala Beauty, is a full-body waxing company specializing in fast, high-quality Brazilian and full body waxing and personalized skin care. I’m known for providing a comfortable, efficient, and detail-oriented experience for every client. What sets Bala Beauty apart is my ability to combine speed with exceptional technique, while also educating clients on skin health and aftercare. I’m most proud of creating a space where clients feel confident, cared for, and excited to come back.
All products I use are the best on the market. They are all natural, hypoallergenic, and PCOS friendly. As someone with PCOS my goal is to make sure anyone could come in and get a wax no matter the hair type, body type or skin type!
I also understand the economy we live in and how difficult everything is right now. Which is why I have my $40 Brazilians EVERY Thursday. This is more than just for the money for me. I care so much for each and every one of my clients that walk into my business — they are more than just clients to me.
How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happy is seeing the people I care about thriving. Knowing that the people around me feel supported, loved, and encouraged brings me real joy. I’m happiest when I’m able to create moments of comfort or confidence for others, whether in my work or in my personal life.
