Exploring Life & Business with Advika Rajeev of Thinker’s Chronicle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Advika Rajeev.

Hi Advika, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Ever since I could write, I had notepads filled with random stories I’d scribble whenever inspiration hit. It was during the pandemic, however, that the stories which gathered dust in my Google Drive were uncovered again. With school shifting to an entirely virtual format, I used the extra time I had my junior year to continue developing my novel until it was ready for publishing. Writing, editing, and formatting the final version of “All the President’s Horses and All the President’s Men” was an incredibly awarding and eye-opening experience. I later published my second book “Of Dreams And Ink”, a short story and poetry collection, later the same year.

Along with my first novel, I also launched the Thinker’s Chronicle bi-weekly newspaper (www.thinkerschronicle.com), an entirely student-led publication focused on promoting the Gen Z viewpoint. Along with our writers, I sought to reveal our unique perspectives when looking at the dynamic changes our society was currently facing. As we’ve grown, we now encompass a writing team from 6 countries and a readership spanning 25 nations. As new writers have joined, we discuss everything from space flights to Supreme Court cases to international protests to climate change. We ran a “Give Breath, Give Hope” fundraiser which raised $750 to purchase oxygen concentrators for India during a punishing hike in cases.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Launching Thinker’s Chronicle was an amazing journey, and I’ve loved creating a platform where so many talented youths can speak up about what matters most to them. However, building a team that works cohesively to publish an edition every 2 weeks took some time to polish. Figuring out the best way to communicate in a timely manner to students around the globe as well as setting directions and expectations for writers to meet on every article written were items that took trial and error to figure out. I am thankful that through it all, I was able to work with my leadership team to develop our team skills.

As you know, we’re big fans of Thinker’s Chronicle. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
The Thinker’s Chronicle (www.thinkerschronicle.com) is a bi-weekly newspaper completely led and tailored to Generation Z. Sparked during the beginning of the COVID pandemic, it was meant to be a platform through which students could feel free to voice their perspectives about all the changes around them. We actively look for new, diverse writers who bring fresh perspectives to the news. We make sure that our content is informative and engaging for all ages. Along with articles, we also publish creative works like poetry, art, and opinion pieces. Our mission is to encourage the youth to take an interest in current global news and improve scientific literacy. By creating an environment that provides safe, unbiased coverage about the topics that Gen Z cares about most, Thinker’s Chronicle strives to change the youth from spectators of society into participants.

What were you like growing up?
Although my favorite subject is math, I have always loved the ability to travel to new realms with reading and writing. A bit of an introvert, I enjoyed the peace and anticipation that came with opening a new series, which led to my enthusiasm for drawing up my own world. My interest in staying up with current news along with my passion for the sciences was what led me to launch the Thinker’s Chronicle.
