Today we’d like to introduce you to Alan Nicely.
Hi Alan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started out as a personal trainer, but shifted my focus after working for a chiropractor. I enjoyed helping people recover from their injuries, and it turned out I had a knack for manual therapy— why not get licensed in massage therapy? I started working for myself about a year after graduating. It was just a room in an office building for 6 years, but I slowly gathered a steady client base. My primary modalities are myofascial release and trigger point, and I’m best with anything that’s achy, tight, has radiating or shooting pain, or doesn’t move the way it should. In 2023, my wife Aline and I decided to team up and open a wellness center. We wanted to add chiropractic, nutrition coaching, and Lagree fitness. Aline has put an incredible amount of effort into, not only helping with the business side of things, but also being an exceptional Lagree instructor who crafts her routines to be as smooth and effective as possible while also emphasizing proper technique during classes. Stephanie is a PA, personal trainer, and certified nutrition coach. She provides nutrition coaching and is also a phenomenal Lagree instructor. Dr. Lynn is a chiropractor who specializes in the Cox Decompression Technique and is uniquely talented at helping patients with disc herniations and other more complex issues.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’m not the most outgoing person, so networking is a bit of a challenge. I think growing could have been a lot easier if I had gone to more events…. and actually talked when I got there haha. Also, money is an obvious obstacle unless you’re lucky enough to start with it. It’s just been baby steps followed by one leap of faith.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Integrated Vitality has solely been Corrective Massage up until 2025. I started to get a little bit of a reputation for being the place to go if you wanted a “fix it up” massage with pretty safe odds of drastic improvement after 1-3 sessions. It feels nice to know that my clients help me where my pains are— getting the word out. Dr. Lynn Stephanie, and Aline are going to be excellent for adding to the brand, which is about providing results and building trust and confidence with our clients.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Be patient. It might take a little longer than you thought.
