Exploring Life & Business with Amanda Mendenhall of Arc Creative Co

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Mendenhall.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Owner of Arc Creative Co, solo mama to two crazy boys, and lover of all things coffee related.

I fell in love with photography through weddings and portraits. I was a successful wedding and portrait photography business from 2015-2020, but found myself dabbling more and more into the commercial side of photography and LOVING it!

I started photographing content for a local coffee shop (Revolution Coffee Co) and just really had my eyes opened to that side of photography. Towards the end of 2020, I took on a few more commercial jobs, personal brands, influencers, products, etc. and realized this is what I wanted to do full time.

My business partner and I parted ways in the fall of 2020, and Arc Creative Co was born.

We photograph and video personal brands (photographers, authors, fitness instructors, etc.), brick and mortar stores (coffee shops, boutiques, restaurants, etc.), and products. I work with brands and help them create the content of their dreams. Content that converts to building the business they want! I teach authenticity, showing up on your social media/blog/website, and the value in good imagery.

This business has been a dream come true, and it has been such a blessing to work with so many brands and businesses!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think any entrepreneur ever has a smooth road…ha! One of the biggest struggles I have faced is convincing people WHY they need brand photography. In the wedding and portrait industry, you don’t have to convince anyone WHY they need wedding photography, they just know they need it! In the brand photography world, I feel like I’m trying to constantly educate people on how much of a difference brand photos will make in their business.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Arc Creative Co?
I specialize in photographing and videoing personal brands, brick and mortar shops, and products. I work with a business owner who needs content for their website, social media, email lists, printables, etc. and together, we plan a photoshoot that gets them exactly what they need, down to every single detailed shot.

What sets me apart from others is my passion for business owners. I desperately want to see other business owners THRIVE (especially after the mess we all went through in 2020), so I convert that passion for others into work that helps them build and grow their businesses. Another thing that sets Arc Creative Co apart is that we offer video as well as photo, so we are a one stop shop for brands to cover every content area they need!

I am most proud of my client experience! From start to finish, I communicate with my clients, build mood boards and shot lists, and make sure we are on the same page every step of the way. This is SO important as a brand photographer!

I want them to know that I offer commercial photo and video and that they will be absolutely taken care of every step of the way!

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I’d say I was a leader. I was always captain or manager in just about every sport, every job, every club I was ever in. I worked hard for what I wanted and set intense goals for myself even as a teenager. I pushed through adversities such as all of my hair falling out due to alopecia, tearing my meniscus in high school and still playing sports (10/10 don’t recommend haha), and various other things.

Pricing:

  • The Personal Brand Photography experience starts at $1495
  • Product photography/videography starts at $450
  • Commercial Photography/videography started at $500
