Exploring Life & Business with Amber Blake of Amberock Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Blake

Hi Amber , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born & raised in Fort Worth and moved out to Los Angeles in 2010. There in LA I met my now husband and producing partner, Richard Blake. Richard has been a long time actor and always had a vision to be able to write and director his own projects. With his creative talents and my organizational skills we became a great team and began Amberock Productions in 2016. Our first feature film, The Rocket was released in 2018. As many challenges that come with producing a movie, we loved every bit of the process and knew we wanted to continuing working together and couldn’t wait to do again. Our second film, Blame was written and acted in by Richard released in 2021. Coming off the height of the pandemic in 2020, we made the big decision to leave Los Angles and make the move to my hometown of Fort Worth. Once settled in we began the process of producing The Actor, written, directed and acted in by Richard. We wanted to really plant Amberock Productions here, get to know and use local crew and talent in the area. Being able to film in my hometown and showcase the city and local businesses was a fun treat for me! The Actor has now just released in April and available on most streaming services. We have met some very talented people from crew to actors here that we can’t wait to work with again!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Producing from start to finish is never a smooth road and you can count on needing to have your mental fire extinguisher ready to put fires and solve problems! However, that is the fun of it for us. Each project is different and you learn from each one. Being able to build a team that you can trust to get the job done and have fun doing it is key. We are grateful to have found some people in Fort Worth that we look forward to having on team in the next projects!

We’ve been impressed with Amberock Productions , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our Production company is owned and operated by myself and my husband. We have loved being able to work so closely together and create. We are fortunate to have a great relationship to be able to handle the pressures that producing may bring. We now have 3 full length feature films under our belt; The Rocket, Blame and The Actor. Each are available to watch on most streaming service. We are most proud of having been able to secure the rights to use 8 songs from Collective Soul an absolute favorite band of ours. Richard has always dreamed of being able to have Collective Soul as the main soundtrack in a movie and proud to have finally made it happen. Their songs bring in so much fun and character to The Actor. The Red Carpet Premiere for The Actor was held right downtown of Fort Worth. Now being back in my hometown of Texas, it has been a great accomplishment to be able to bring job opportunities and big events in film here.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
For our most recent film, The Actor, we could not have accomplished this without our partnership with Grateful Z Productions. They have been great friends and mentors of ours since we moved to Texas and glad to have teamed up with them!
