Hi Analy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The reason I started my business was to recognize my grandmother. Lilaflowers is proudly named after my grandma, who sadly passed away, Lidia Flores, who was lovingly called Mamalila or Lila.
Remembering her love for gardening and plants, I dedicate my business and all her achievements to her. Flowers always brought many smiles to my grandma’s face, just as I work with flowers to bring smiles to people’s faces. I share this to show my personal motivation and story to my business, after her passing all her love for flowers passed on to me. Creating many beautiful different floral arrangements has definitely helped me cope and keep her memory alive.
LilaFlowers was established 2022 Just a year after her passing I had decide to make a anniversary arrangement for her grave, from there on out I decided to create an instagram page to show a gallery of small arrangements I have made every here and there. I decided to establish my business to have something to keep me in “touch” with my grandmother; as her love for plants was unexplainable in words, I can say she passed her love of flowers to me.
Losing someone is a very hard grief process, and although it feels as if her passing just happened yesterday, I find joy and a way to cope within my business. As time went on I took the leap and made a goal to make a brand for myself and expand Lilaflowers. Investing to make my business look professional and have recognition with opportunities like this.
Everything is for her, Lidia Flores, and as for me, the owner of LilaFlowers, Analy Lidia Montelongo Aguilera, at the age of 15, created this business to be bloomed in light to keep the memory of a loving grandmother, Mamalila. I thank God for all the blessings he has brought to my business, for he is the one who created the beauty of flowers.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say it was definitely a bumpy road to get where LilaFlowers is right now. As the floral industry can be a very toxic environment at times, it was a competition to get orders and create a name and brand for myself.
Also with the fact that before I was a beginner florist and had very little experience and knowledge of each individual flower and its proper care. It was a hard road to learn everything by myself and improve my work, which was also hard to even get orders, but now I thankfully have a larger booking than Lila Flowers has ever had.
Getting recognition was probably the hardest challenge my business has had. With that being said, there were many obstacles I think every beginner florist will go through to achieve a floral business.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Lilaflowers is owned by CEO Analy Lidia Aguilera, established in 2022, and has already been very successful in the floral industry. I take a variety of floral and business marketing management classes to create a platform both professional and eye-catching to new customers of any age.
In addition, I have my Texas State Floral Knowledge certificate to get a better understanding of the different types of flowers and how to properly take care of each. In my small community I am a well known florist who started their own brand at 15, yes there is other local florists in the area but what sets me apart from them is my time and level of experience. I have a personal sentimental reason for the start of my business, and my dedication is to have my business 10 more successful than it is now.
What also sets me apart from others in my area is the quality of flowers as I invest in wholesale and other materials to hydrate each individual flower; new beginners use grocery flowers as beginnings, so with that being said, I consider my products as luxurious arrangements custom made to each individual liking. I am launching my website to look professional and show people they are paying their money’s worth with someone with experience. I’m proud to have created my very own floral brand at such a young age and to have achieved and gotten opportunities from it.

How do you define success?
My personal opinion on success is achieving goals you set for yourself, an effort you put into something you want in life to not only show a desired outcome but to prove anyone who doubts you or, in my case, necessarily make your loved ones proud.
As for me, I see Lilaflowers as a successful floral business that is only waiting to thrive more in the future. All the achievements and recognition in my business are dedicated to my grandma!
