Exploring Life & Business with Andrea Ledbetter of Bev of Hi’La Management

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Ledbetter.

Hi Andrea, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am Bev, Andrea Ledbetter, Serial entrepreneur, owner, and creator of Hi’La Decor, and Bev of Hi’La Management. I am also a mother of two children. As well as a wife to my Great Husband. I was born in Kankakee, IL, and raised in Providence, RI. I was a foster kid until the age of 14 and adopted by my aunt. I am what others consider a Jill of all trades. I hold multiple licenses, Certified Nursing Assistance, Forklifting, Cybersecurity certified, because I love to learn new things.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey to entrepreneurship has been difficult but has yielded the best results. I grew up pretty harshly. I was a foster kid until the age of 14, I’ve dealt with homelessness in the years 2018–2019, from bouncing family members’ couches to losing homes due to foreclosures, to at one point living in my car. Yet it has not deterred me from becoming the woman I am today. I learned that you have to grow through what you are going through to learn how to not make the same mistakes twice. My first business was with my sister Arlene Beverly in Providence, RI, a hair bundle bar named Becki with the Good Hair. It was extremely successful but we parted ways when I moved to Atlanta. From there, I branched into my second business Trappillows, an aesthetic home decor brand for decor for businesses, but learned that someone beat me to trademarking my brand, which created Hi’La Decor. I learned that legally to get your business done first and everything immediately afterward.

Hi’La Decor is extremely successful and well running. I used my joy of content creating and short-term video footage to become popular across different Social Media Platforms, which helped launch my third business, Bev of Hi’La Management.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
With my Bev of Hi’La Management brand, I wear many hats. I am a Travelling Social Media Marketing Manager. And I travel across the USA to shoot content for brands I manage while also handling their social media pages. I manage an Esthetician brand named Urban Waxologist, @urbanwaxologist, in Boston, MA, an Accessory brand in Columbia, SC, named The Causal Den, @thecasualden, a skincare brand in Temple, TX named MyTea Gardens, @myteagardens, a postop care facility in Dallas, TX named Vanity Wellness and Body @vanitywellnessandbodypllc, and a medical scrub brand in Dallas, TX named Jazzyscrubs @jazzyscrubs_. I am blessed that these brands choose me to help create visibility for their pages on social media. I also coach others on how to become affluent influencers, which is high luxury influencing, using their social media page analytics to connect my students with global brands that are looking for influencers with their audiences. My students have worked with L’Oréal Paris, Javy Coffee, BrandBacker, Plants Inc. and so much more brands. Almost all of my students are also monetized over multiple platforms and are stars within their niche.

I also coach brands on how to be a personal brand and connecting with their audiences on social media. I teach them how to create content, integrating your social media systems (post in one place and post EVERYWHERE), developing brand awareness, and putting your brand in front of your targeted audience. I find multiple ways to help my students grow and teach them in ways that others have not developed.

This year has been so crazy and has been extremely developing for my brand. It been so much that I had to hire my very first assistant to help me keep everything in motion and running properly. Huge, Huge shoutout to my assistant Deyonna Brown and my sister Arlene Beverly without them there is no me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Honestly, I don’t believe in luck. I believe that if you work hard and put in the work you can accomplish anything. I know that I am blessed and one of God’s Favorite people, but I do not believe luck had anything to do with it. I didn’t get lucky; I WORKED MY ASSESTS OFF TO GET TO WHERE I AM TODAY!!! That requires sacrifice, risk, and time management. There were months where I didn’t make any money. Pivoting from one career into the next, I didn’t make any profit in my first 4 months and was ready to give up. But I stayed the course and continued to make sacrifices for what I wanted for myself and brand.
