Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel Merk.
Hi Ariel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey into luxury interior design began with a deep passion for creating beautiful, functional spaces that tell a story—one that reflects the lifestyle and dreams of each client I serve. After years of honing my craft in high-end residential design and building, I founded Aeroview Design Co., a boutique interior design studio that specializes in designing luxury hangar homes and aviation lifestyle interiors.
My husband and I stumbled into the aviation world when we found a hangar for rent and decided to build our dream office and warehouse space there. That single decision changed everything. We fell in love with the aviation community, purchased a plane, and my husband began his journey to get his pilot license. I realized there was a major gap in the market for interior designers who truly understand the needs of pilots and aviation families—from functional layouts that flow around the hangar to materials that reflect strength and sophistication.
Today, I help busy professionals and aviation enthusiasts design homes that feel as elevated as their lifestyle—spaces that merge luxury, comfort, and clarity. Whether it’s a modern hangar home, a penthouse with panoramic views, or a full-home remodel, my mission is the same: to create interiors that uplift, inspire, and reflect a life well-lived—at altitude.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to building Aeroview Design Co. has been anything but smooth—and I’m grateful for every bump along the way. Like many entrepreneurs, I started with passion and a vision, but I quickly learned that owning a luxury interior design business requires more than creativity. It demands leadership, boundaries, faith, and perseverance.
One of my biggest challenges was learning how to stay in my lane—especially on large-scale projects like hangar homes and whole-home remodels where many moving parts are involved. As someone who genuinely cares about the client experience, I had to learn how to lead confidently as a designer without taking on roles that belong to the builder or architect. That clarity in roles has not only protected my peace but also made our projects more successful and enjoyable for everyone involved.
Another hurdle was entering the aviation design niche—a space that barely existed when we started. But instead of waiting for someone else to define it, we leaned into our own story: building our office in a hangar, my husband learning to fly, and discovering how many pilots were searching for someone who understood their lifestyle. That challenge turned into our greatest opportunity.
Now, I help busy professionals and pilots design luxury homes that reflect their passions and provide peace of mind—because I’ve been there. And I’ve built a business around solving the very pain points I once faced myself.
