Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Johnson.
Hi Ashley, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
The Bells Sweet Factory is owned by Me (Ashley) and my fiancé Thaddeus Bell hence where The Bells Sweet Factory come from. We from New Orleans and moved to Texas in 2018 broke, homeless, and struggling. We had $40 to our name and turned that into an empire. We feed multiple celebrities and we’re known for our bomb food. We hustled selling plates from 2018 in Dallas to 7/2020 and now opening our restaurant 10/23/2021.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Noooo way! We had no help from family/friends at all!! Dealing with 4 kids, no money, no resources, and no help was a BIG struggle but we overcame it! Kept faith and consistency.
As you know, we’re big fans of The Bells Sweet Factory. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a food truck from 7/20 to now opening a restaurant 10-23-21. We specialize in NEW ORLEANS taste of food and style. Everything from Gumbo, boudin balls, and more we can make and it tastes like every bit of NOLA.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Yes! We plan to open a franchise of restaurants all over the world also some other business ventures that’ll you’ll soon know about.
