Exploring Life & Business with Ashley Lilburn of Ashley Lilburn Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Lilburn.

Hi Ashley, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hi! My name is Ashley Lilburn. I earned a B.S. in Psychology from TCU in 2007. I had a short but lovely stint at Lockheed Martin and then had the privilege of staying home with my children for seven years. However, my daughter was chronically ill as a young child. After five years of pursuing help via Western Medicine, she was actually much worse and declared antibiotic resistant. By the grace of God, a book called “The Dirt Cure” landed on my lap and proposed dietary changes that we implemented as a family and I started taking Julia to an alternative practitioner named Allison Blakewell at Fort Worth Wellness. Overnight, my daughter’s health transformed! She went from surviving to thriving and we haven’t ever looked back – that was over seven years ago! I wanted to go back to school to understand why those interventions worked and learn how to spread the empowerment my family got to experience in regard to health! I went back and earned a Master’s of Science in Lifestyle Health Sciences from UNTHSC in 2021. I then sat for the American College of Lifestyle Medicine Boards (at a Master’s level) and passed! Then I went on to certify in NAET. I joined the Fort Worth Wellness practice and have had a thriving practice there helping families with their health challenges for adults and pediatrics. In 2024, I decided that in order to be fully integrative I needed more tools to address mental health which I was witnessing as part of peoples’ barrier to their physical health. I am anticipating graduation with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health from University of Mary in April, 2026. I am currently seeing both counseling patients as an Intern (supervised by Dr. Franchesca Garza-Fraire, License #75690) and NEAT and Lifestyle Medicine patients at Fort Worth Wellness.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road to where I am has been one that God has provided for each step of the way, in every way! Spending the majority of your 30’s in graduate school, working full-time, with a family, is never smooth or easy. But we can do hard things! And, often, that is where true self-esteem comes from.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am creating an integrative mental health practice that combines the best of functional testing, integrative practices like NAET and Lifestyle Medicine, and evidenced-based mental health therapy! I am so proud and excited to be pursuing this because I believe, deeply, that patients deserve to understand what is happening, what their options are, and feel empowered to make the best decision for their own, individual, mental health.

How do you define success?
I have always, and will always, define success as my patients’ improved lived-experience! The patient should always be the barometer and feel listened to and empowered with understanding and choice.
