Hi Big Motion, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I am a President, Manager, A&R, and Nightlife Host from Savannah, Ga. I began my journey as a manager for an artist looking to make sure that he would be able to navigate the music industry without being swindled and to fine-tune his sound. I put myself out there to increase my knowledge and resources in the music business in order to be of better service. My colleague saw my efforts and decided to introduce me to the “industry.” Ever since then, I haven’t looked back. Our client KFKMadeIt was the first to touch Billboard 200 with “Vacant Hearts” by StaySolidRocky of VA. HitthaGnote was next to touch Billboard at #1 with Key Glock’s Yellow Tape 2 & Yellow Tape 2 Deluxe (No Rap Cap & U And I Know). I have since relocated to Atlanta to continue the expanding of my brand – Major Motion Music Group, aka 3MG. Also, I now A&R for Hot Producers Only and host clubs/lounges around the Atlanta area. I am booked for consultations for artist/producers and studio sessions for A&R services. Website is on the way for the team as well as merch/clothing will be sold via website. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been smooth in any sense of the word. However, I will say that I have had it easier than most individuals looking to be in the industry based off of my relationships and how much I value people. Not focusing on the clout/fame a person has also made my path easier to navigate. No one wants to do business with a fan.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I manage a roster of producers and artist along with my team of my trusted A&Rs. We handle the administrative work of the clients as well as boost/fine-tune their music. We advise the clients on the best moves for their individual motion. What sets us apart is that we are independent on majors’ radar, and we are just getting started. We aren’t local; the world is our region. Although our base is in Atlanta, we have clients around GA, AZ, NC, NY, ME, TX, MI, CA, and etc. The fact that we have a family orientation with us makes me the most proud because I live and breathe 3MG. I’ve made sacrifices to make this what it is today, and it brings tears to my eyes to see my brothers and sisters believe in me. Honestly, it gives the battery in my back a charge! I want the audience to know that I am the Godfather of Motion, and I stand on all 3MG business. We will dominate the charts and our supporters’ hearts. Even a hater will acknowledge sooner than later. We are the motion makers. Want fire beats from super producers? Want a fire verse written for you? Want DJ spins? What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was playing football in front of the city/region. We won multiple championships, and the crowd’s support after every made play definitely charged me up for sure. Now we have large crowds cheering for us. Big 3MG!
