Hi Blanca, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey with a deep desire to make a difference in people’s lives, especially within the Latino community. Growing up, I saw firsthand the challenges many families face when they don’t have access to the right information or resources to protect their health, finances, and future. Those experiences shaped my mission: to be a bridge between my community and the opportunities that can truly change lives.
My career began in the insurance industry, where I quickly realized my passion went far beyond selling policies. I wanted to educate, guide, and empower people — in both English and Spanish — so they could make informed decisions for themselves and their families.
When I founded Nexum Insurance Group, I started with limited resources, but an abundance of determination, faith, and a clear vision. It has been a long journey with many challenges, but through it all, God has always been there — guiding my steps, opening doors, and giving me the strength to keep going when things got hard.
Over the years, I’ve worked tirelessly to build not just a business, but a place where clients feel understood, supported, and valued. I’ve also made it a priority to mentor other agents, helping them grow professionally while staying connected to the communities they serve.
Today, I am proud to lead an agency that helps individuals and families secure their futures, while also inspiring others — especially in the Latino community — to dream bigger, work harder, and trust that with faith, perseverance, and God’s guidance, anything is possible. For me, success is not just about achievement; it’s about service, integrity, and leaving a legacy that reminds others that where you start does not define where you can go.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. Building a business from the ground up comes with countless challenges — financial limitations, long hours, and the uncertainty of not knowing what tomorrow will bring. As a Latina woman in the business world, I’ve also faced moments where I had to work twice as hard to prove my value and earn trust, especially in spaces where my community has not always been represented.
There were times when I felt exhausted, when doors seemed closed, and when the weight of responsibility felt overwhelming. But in every difficult moment, I turned to God for strength and guidance. My faith reminded me that no challenge is greater than His plan, and that every obstacle can become an opportunity to grow.
Another challenge has been educating and earning the trust of the Latino community. Many families are unfamiliar with how insurance works in the United States, and some have faced language barriers or fear of making financial commitments. I made it my mission to break down those walls by offering clear information, genuine care, and service in both English and Spanish.
Looking back, those challenges shaped me into the leader I am today. They taught me resilience, humility, and the importance of staying faithful even when the path is uncertain.
