Exploring Life & Business with Bridgette Ivers of Designer Haus

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Bridgette Ivers.

Bridgette Ivers

Hi Bridgette, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Interior Architecture and Design and have been immersed in the interior design and renovation world for over 27 years.

I’ve always had an aptitude for merging business acumen with design, which led me to create Designer Haus. I have grown the business from a warehouse setting to an upscale showroom and full-service design and renovation studio since. We’re all about curating beautiful furnishings and décor while getting the most out of each space, whether for cozy homes or bustling businesses.

I also own Legacy Renovation and Design Services, specializing in giving kitchens, bathrooms, and everything in between a fresh new look. My passion lies in not just meeting but exceeding the expectations of my clients but also in surrounding myself with a strong team of designers and trade professionals who are dedicated to producing beautiful results.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
I cannot speak for everyone, but for Designer Haus, Covid brought a significant challenge. Interior design and renovations are a touch, see, feel, experience business. The in-person aspect of interior design was something that had to change in a major way during Covid.

We were very fortunate that our team made the pivot to technology to continue to provide impeccable service while keeping ourselves and our clients at a safe social distance. We did this by utilizing interior design and renovation software. It was a tough time for everyone, and we were happy to be able to help bring comfort to our customers even if we couldn’t conduct design meetings face-to-face.

Post-pandemic, we have integrated these technological tools into our overall appointment process, giving an even more thorough presentation for each project.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business model for both retail furniture stores and interior design and renovation businesses has always been centered around ‘smart buying.’

I take pride in sourcing and curating furnishings and building materials that offer quality at a competitive price. While many options may be available, I believe in prioritizing value while never compromising quality. Often, my clients express that I care more about their money than they do, a sentiment I find to be true in many cases.

Today, Designer Haus offers a showroom, complete interior design, renovation services, and new build finishes.

We are a unique business in that we can handle any residential or commercial project end-to-end: construction through completion of interior design and finishes. Brand-wise, we are incredibly proud of our flourishing renovation services. We have built a reputation for quality work and exceptional design. We have been fortunate to work on some really unique residential properties. One of our most recent favorites was the complete renovation of a beautiful mid-century modern home in Dallas.

All projects stem from a need, whether a new piece of artwork or a completely redefined space. We have found that providing an all-encompassing service has proven to be invaluable to our clients. Many of our long-time customers started by inquiring about interior design services and have since worked with us to create breathtaking renovations.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Surrounding yourself with great people is key, from the crews tackling renovation projects to the friendly faces greeting customers in the showroom. The bottom line is that people do the business.

In this line of work, good experiences lead to happy customers who keep coming back and spreading the word. Reputation is everything in this space, so having a team you can rely on to treat clients well and represent the company positively is absolutely essential.
