Exploring Life & Business with Britteny Weathers of A Breath Of Life

Today we’d like to introduce you to Britteny Weathers.

Hi Britteny, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My name is Britteny, and I am the proud black owner of A Breath of Life LLC. I am a certified CPR instructor for all 50 states. I started this business roughly 4 years ago. I’ve worked in the healthcare field for over 8 years now. I’ve been in leadership my entire career. I never knew that I would become a business owner. I was once a high school dropout. And now I’m running my own business. I am a single mother of 3 beautiful blessings. When I decided to start my own business I was pregnant with my third child. I also re-entered back in high school while pregnant at 28 years of age and graduated proudly with my two sons along my side. I must say this was one of my most memorable moments. And It was at that very moment I knew generational curses had to be broken and generational wealth had to be created. Owning a business has its ups and downs. But the greatest part is the purpose behind it. When it’s purposeful, it doesn’t register to you as a just business, job, or career. This is something you actually love & enjoy doing daily. I’ve trained and certified nearly 2,500 people alone in the state of Indiana. My classes are very knowledgeable, fun, hands-on, and affordable. My students love Instructor B. Training to save lives is one of my superpowers, and I wear my cape very proudly. I pray that my business will continue to grow and prosper in all 50 states. My business is registered on Google, Facebook, and Instagram, all under A Breath of Life LLC. Be sure to browse, like, share and follow me!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Running a business isn’t as nearly smooth as we think. Sometimes we jump head first and think, “oh, I can do this without actually having a plan in place. That wasn’t the case for me. I did the research, I made the plan, and took the risk. I started this business with bill money. Bill money that I risked for a dream only I could see. This road to entrepreneurship hasn’t been easy by far. When I first started, I rarely had any clients. I would jumped at every opportunity that came to me for my business. It didn’t matter if it was good business or bad; I wanted more clientele. I learned to faith it to you make it. Building clientele was the hardest for me. Not everyone supports as you think when you start a business. I had little to no support in the beginning. There were times I just wanted to give up and walk away. Sometimes I would go months without clients. Then other time I would be booked completely for an entire month. As east as it was to just throw in the towel, I refused to do that! I had not only my children & family depending on me but others rooting for me to win. I took a lot of losses due to a lack of money management, inconsistency, and discipline. It was hard trying to balance running a business and being a full time mother. I always had to reflect back to my why. Why I started in the first place and knowing that nothing comes easy, especially success. Once I got on the right track in the areas I lacked with my business, I saw a level of growth and elevation each year.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about A Breath of Life LLC?
I can tell you that my business will be worldwide very soon. A Breath Of Life comes highly recommended for CPR & First-Aid Training. What sets me apart from other instructors is my purpose behind teaching. I don’t just teach people for their money; certify them and send them on their way. I am teaching them a basic life skill that can help millions of people including close friends and loved ones. A Breath Of Life is impacting lives and making a difference. Confidently knowing that when my students leave my class they too wear the same cape as me, a First-Aid responder with the ability to save lives. The best part of my brand is my business name. It is out of the book of Genesis in the Bible. Which makes it even more purposeful to me. I offer many services: CPR training, first aid training, AED training, BLS training, child, infant, and adult training, emergency oxygen training, and babysitters training. My business is also mobile. We travel to any location in-state or out-of-state for training.

You can again find my business on social media @ Facebook, Instagram, and google.

We’d love to hear what you think about risk-taking.
Do I consider myself a risk taker? Why yes, I do. As I mentioned early on, I took the risk of starting my business with the money I needed for other priorities. I sat and thought about it over and over in my head, not knowing if it was the right thing to do at the time. My money was tight, and my pay was just alright. I knew I wanted more for me and my children. I prayed about it, left it in God hands, and here I am years later, running my own business. The best part about being a risk taker is going after a dream only you can see. No matter how many hurdles you have to jump over. Trails & tribulations you have to endure. Battling with the fear of failure if they risk doesn’t play out the way you imagined it. But you do it scared anyway. Your greatest accomplishment is taking the risk despite the odds you’re up against. Starting A Breath Of Life LLC is one of the best risks I’ve taken thus far! I am beyond happy & very proud of myself!
